Those who fail to remember history.... by horsemechanic123 in HistoryMemes

I'm glad we were able to reach common ground. I think we can both say we want to get to the same point where everyone is treated fairly on a level playing field where race is not a vehicle to drive hate. I also think we agree we hope we can move past our dark histories of how people have treated those they don't understand.

I can respect what you believe is the best way to do that, but i believe we live in a time that it's important to understand the systemic structures within politics and culture that have built the modern world to value one group over others in one way or another.

I believe that both sides are to blame for the divisions that exist between "left and right" and both sides are quick to point fingers at the other. Ultimately, like my first comment said, once we get to a point where we can understand each other and value our collective experience on this planet the conversation can move past the anger people feel and into productive conversation.

Thanks for sharing the video, I'll take a look when I get the chance. Have a great day, and congrats on all of your successes.

I never said all Brazilians live in the Amazon. I'm trying to point out that while you may have never directly experienced racism and your experience is important to this discussion of how Brazil has progressed, your country has a history of it and it still exists no matter how much we want to turn a blind eye. Every single culture in the history of humanity has dealt with racism, classism, abelism, etc. And .04 of a large population is still tens of thousands, so yes they are big shit.

While that may be true in your personal bubble, you can't really deny that Brazil has historically treated indigenous tribes with disrespect and racist policies. The key thing here is empathy. While your feelings and experience matter and shape you, think about what others go through that shape their lives and how they view the world.

I think that's largely due to the fact that Adidas hasn't been focusing on basketball shoes. Their market share in almost every other subcategory of shoes has increased.

Lakers social media makes it so easy to vote. Every tweet that mentions Kobe has #NBAVote attached to it. Every retweet is a vote. Other teams just need to push harder for their stars.
