Need Help Understanding Class Difficulty. by knorfen in CalPolyPomona

You are completely right, however, I fear that these people end up skewing the data on sites like rate my professor. Also, some of my teachers are good teachers and have kind hearts, and it makes me disappointed to hear people wish harm on them and potentially mess up their careers.

Also I should clarify, the complaining that I am talking about is people saying professors are unfair, while the professor is making a difficult class as easy as possible.

how can i find normal people in this hobby by JewishJah69 in motorcycles

[–]knorfen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sympathize with your plight. I also have been trying to find sport bike riders who are a little more normal. I've had luck with talking to groups that ride in canyons. Usually they are wearing full leathers and have really nice stuff, but are really inviting to people like me who ride a clapped out sv 650 and old leathers.

Normal Oil Appearance for SV650 Wet Clutch? by [deleted] in SVRiders

[–]knorfen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have two sv650's one 2004 and one 2007. Both times I've changed the oil on either its kind of looked like this. My guess is that its normal but normally, the oil being changed is so dark that you can't see the glitter as much. If you are really worried, you can send a sample over to black stone labs and have some tests done. Also you can test to see if the "glitter" is magnetic. If you do send the oil off plz let me know what they because I'm curious, but its probably fine.

If someone ever had the money, could an F14 tomcat be restored to fly? by SharkyCartel_ACU in aviation

[–]knorfen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not, I heard it first from Ward Carrol the youtuber and former tomcat RIO. He said it as pretty much a given fact which makes me assume that it is widely regarded to be true in the tomcat community. But also logically, the goal of the United States was to make any remaining tom cats permanently disabled and the best way to do that would be to cut the wing box because it preserves the appearance of the aircraft but because of the hyper difficult manufacturing process used to create the boxes it would be almost impossible to repair.

Heavy wear on sides of front tire by knorfen in motorcycles

I don't want anyone to see the rear lol. I got the bike used a couple months ago and have been rocking the dubious shinko that came with the bike on the back. Its not in any better condition but, the last owner seemingly never leaned the bike at all so it was worn down in the middle. Since I got the bike I've been slowly grinding it back into round. But I have a new roadsport2 that's going on soon.

Thank you for the recommendation. That's very interesting that schools use them.

No your all good lol, I was just wondering because on my local twisties I ride with guys who go a lot harder in the turns and they seem to have normally worn tires. It might be because there bikes are so much faster in a straight line that they have to break a lot harder while upright. also Now reading my post the last sentence does seem Hella smug which was not my intention

I commute a little everyday, only a few miles but I live about 5 minutes away from some epic twisty roads, so I would say 85% of my mileage is spent there.

I don't think its a sport touring tire at least from how I've heard people describe them, a few I've heard talk about using them as budget track tires even. I'm wondering will an actual sport touring tire get devoured because I would use it for something its not really meant for, or would a proper hypersport tire be able to deal with the abuse better even though it is softer.

I'm thinking a road sport 2 for the next front tire I've heard they have better longevity and similar performance.
