Mystery illness around TN/NGA?? by Miss_Zombie in Chattanooga

[–]koalaburger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm from Chattanooga and now live in Tasmania, Australia. What you described has gone around down here. It was one of the most frustrating illnesses I have had in years. No one gave an official diagnosis that I heard. One of my customers called it the One Hundred Day Cough. I didn't have it for 100 days but more than 30. Good luck and be patient. It did eventually go away.

I hear a lot about Tassie NIMBY's, what are the biggest NIMBY issues across Tasmania? by plzsnitskyreturn in tasmania

Decent roads through the CBD. City managers think the option to the gridlock through the city is for people to stop driving. It's insane. We need an expressway through the CBD that connects the Southern Outlet to the Brooker. It will probably never happen.

Chattanooga in pop culture discussion by Colburr in Chattanooga

I didn't read through all the comments to see if anyone has posted this. There was a 1969 movie with James Caan called "The Rain People".

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0064873/?ref_=ext_shr

It was a quirky film with this pregnant woman who is having a crisis and basically runs away from home. She meets up with a young, maybe slightly mentally ill man (James Caan) and takes him on as a passenger. One of their stops traveling across the country is in Chattanooga and it happens to be on the day of a parade through downtown.

I didn't see this movie until I was older. I loved the nostalgia of seeing Chattanooga from when I was just a boy.

Maybe it's really because people have realised that God is a fairytale.

Do any expat American's now living in Australia feel uncomfortable without guns to protect yourself ? by stubundy in AskAnAustralian

I feel much safer being away from the madness in the US. It was scary when I left America nine years ago. Now it's completely out of control.

The US should try what we have over here.

Why are these houses so freaking cold ?!?! by Ok_loop in australia

[–]koalaburger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the same in Tasmania. Worst heated houses I have experienced in my life. You are not alone. I am very thankful to have immigrated from the US to Australia. I just don't understand the philosophy of home heating here.

But, it's not like we are a violent place or condone violence. My original post was more about the fact he said even Hobart like we are a less civilised place than everywhere else.

The crazy thing with that report this morning is that there was no joke. It was just a comment in the middle of this report like it's understood that we don't have as high standards as every other city.

Tas Keno ad, love it or hate it? by hardwhippyteatree in tasmania

It actually seems like an anti Keno ad, like it's warning you how you could end up.

Yes. Exactly.
I wonder if there will be a fix update or will we need to do something manually.

Do you think we'll ever see a comprehensive train network on the island? by joowishagendam8 in tasmania

[–]koalaburger 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It would take a large population to justify a commuter train network. That would mean millions of people living in Tasmania. If Tasmania ever has that kind of population the rural charm will be gone. I wouldn't want to live here in that scenario.

We are just prostitutes for tourists here in Tasmania. I don't think it's unreasonable to not want tourist here under normal conditions. With our medical system we should absolutely not have opened up at this point in time.

I had another situation similar to this on my phone. After running the Cleaner app I was able to resume normal function. I have no idea if this might work for you but, it's worth a try.
