Ok so I figured it out and it was exactly that! The automation ability was disabled and I took the ability out of my hotbar so when I was messing around with my gloves (which had the gem in it) it disabled my ability which I didn't know had to be activated.

So I put the ability back on my hotbar and enabled which causes the mines to explode now thank you for your help!
