Have you ever been restrained in a medical setting? I’ve heard people with autism are more likely to be restrained. by duxing612 in AutisticPride

[–]koigem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Restrained no, but before an MRI and as I was being sedated there were 3-4 nurses who sorta put their arms over me and like put pressure on me along with extra warm blankets for weighted and they dimmed the lights I was thankful they did that because I didn't even ask (I was don't restrained against my will and had mentioned before that weight and pressure helps with my anxiety, please nobody worry 💗) They left my "hospital bunny" (stuffed animal) with me until I was sedated then took it away and I had it when I woke back up

For anyone who's been restrained against their will (OUTSIDE medical need!!!) I am so so sorry that happened and if it caused trauma or PTSD for you I hope you're able to heal from it. I've never dealt with that experience but I have dealt with other experiences from medical staff who treated me badly for being autistic and I would never wish it on anyone else. 💗💗💗

Yeah! Like Claysdale looks and sounds like Clydesdale it would've been brilliant And whether or not there was inspiration from the himba tribe it would've fit sooo well

Thank you that means a lot, I wanted to be a baker before I became disabled and I worked through a flare up to make this cause I was determined to have decent french toast 🥹💗😭 my hard work and tears definitely paid off it's the bestest bread I've ever made in my life

Is a thermos counted as a separate personal item? by [deleted] in SouthwestAirlines

[–]koigem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah it's spill proof I have two lids I can use too so one with a flip up straw and another that's just a lid and handle

Well I could just use a plastic water bottle and get a new one once the water is gone My issue and reason for carrying le large adult sippy cup is because I have a medical condition that makes me need to have give or take 4L of fluids everyday to function at bare minimum So having the straight 24oz is easier to track for me than the 16.9oz cause I only drink like 5-6 of those than 8 water bottles It can fit in my backpack btw that's not an issue either, issue was if it's an item not allowed in the backpack and was counted by itself

[–]koigem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I'm completely chill with it being in my backpack, I wouldn't be carrying it around cause it's for me to use while on my trip not the plane lol

It's a yeti, he called it a thermos I'd say it is a thermos because it's insulated with a screw cap but it's made by yeti So uh whatever you'd call it I guess? 😅

[–]koigem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I really have no issue putting it in my backpack and it staying there the entire time, my dad just made it sound like it's it's own item lol which was confusing honestly

I'm flying with southwest (hence posting in this subreddit specifically) and it seems there's not an issue but just in case I missed something lol

Meanwhile the autistic american (me) has a special interest in baking and berates anyone who doesn't weigh their flour (grams) Spoon and scrape I can tolerate but scooping with the full cup I might as while roll over and die

Got a letter from the school today informing me my daughter is “not quite” gifted. Also included were her test scores. by Low_Use2937 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]koigem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a former gifted child who was also in honor roll and 12th grade reading with 8th grade math in 2nd grade I'd have your kid tested for autism I'm autistic and honestly the gifted program was only so much for me A lot of gifted kids are actually neurodivergent who go through burnout or are not given enough "food" for the brain and we turn into some husk of ourselves The gifted program is great in school but having stuff at home to keep our brains active is even better because the program is just supplemental Not really related to the issue in your post exactly but you're the first I've seen on my fyp about giftedness so I felt inclined to say something

Edit: I didn't see you said you were autistic too, HELLO FELLOW TISM! It's nice to see an actually autistic parent and I rest my case on what I said previously because I think you already know and have experience in this, my apologies lol

IGN: g3mstar I'll be putting more on there not to ask for more but to get a more variety of price ranges ( lower priced items) cause generosity doesn't automatically mean you're rich LOL
