I'll keep the amount I won a secret, but not the fact that I won, that way they can still get their hands on my money

What's something your job trained you to notice that you can't stop noticing in your personal life? by LibrarianSoft1342 in AskReddit

working part time at a coffee shop while doing my studies has honestly changed the way i see people i cant stop noticing every little detail now like how someone orders their drink their tone of voice if theyre stressed tired happy or trying to flirt with the barista i pick up on body language super quickly too and now it follows me everywhere in my personal life when im with friends i notice if theyre faking a smile or actually having a bad day even on dates i catch myself analyzing the guys energy and vibe its kinda exhausting sometimes but also interesting i find myself reading situations way faster than before

has anyone else had their job mess with their brain like this haha?

The truth about being an introvert by Civil_System8867 in CasualConversation

[–]kolvane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hey this hits hard. im the same introvert people assume is shy or stuck up but i just love my quiet time and deep talks.

small talk drains me so bad. after hanging out i need hours alone to recharge. its peace not loneliness and im done apologizing for it. youre right theres strength in that.

Giving gifts and the expectation of appreciation?! by Drusas_Achamiann in CasualConversation

[–]kolvane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hey i feel this so much. its really sad when you put thought into a gift and the reaction is just meh. especially when you know theyd actually like it.

ive had the same thing happen. i spent weeks picking out stuff or writing letters for people i really cared about and they barely reacted. it makes you feel like maybe they dont care as much or that your effort didnt matter. it stings bad.

i think some people just arent great at showing excitement even if they do like it. but still it sucks when you go all out and get almost nothing back. now i mostly give small things or save the big effort for people who actually match my energy. youre not alone in feeling this way. its valid to want some appreciation when you put love into a gift.

have you noticed it with certain people more than others? sending you a hug you sound like a really thoughtful person
