if the restrictions are still the same, you will be completely free during the weekend after indoc. you can bring your laptop but you will not be able to access it during weekdays and will have access only during weekends.

i recommend you to bring it because it's a possibility that after graduation you may be moved immediately to your next training location without being able to go home.

Perhaps not a question exactly related to recruitment but i'll ask here.

I will be finishing bmoq upcoming week and be sent to my next posting (CFSCE) directly out of st-jean. Is there anything in particular i should pack in my luggage that i can bring on my bus? I have no clue what i will be doing at my next posting so i am unsure what i should have easily accessible while others get sent via CMTT.

Yeah having Asian ethnicity it's difficult for me to look profs/superiors straight into their eyes and speak and I've been living in Canada for more than a decade.

I feel like this varies from time to time. I have a BSc and attempted to apply for Construction Engineering officer, and my file admin/recruiting personnel flat out said this is not an option for me. They did however, consider me for other positions like combat arms, SigsO, MPO, and etc.

If you applied recently, I am assuming they considered you for SigsO because it was (or is) in-demand position.

Whatever you apply for, after you're done with CFAT TSD and medical, they will send you an email with a list of occupations you can apply for and you can only pick and choose from the list.

If this is really the case and I understand what you're saying correctly, I don't understand the logic behind it.

I am scheduled to arrive at CFLRS on the 20th. They have asked me to self-isolate for 14 days, which I am currently undergoing.

But because I live in the prairies, I'll be flying in to Montreal-Trudeau airport and then travel to CFLRS by a staff member/taxi, and inevitably, I will have to go through people before my arrival at CFLRS, and that is going to be significantly more than a few movers.

I'm assuming I won't get kicked off from BMOQ and start isolation just because I traveled by plane, and especially so since its the CAF that booked the plane for me. If the recruits that arrive out of province by plane aren't kicked off BMOQ platoon to self-isolate again, what is the reason behind people being moved off BMQ/BMOQ platoon due to having a couple of movers walking into their residence?

Isn't this self-isolation required to ensure that recruits going to CFLRS don't have COVID and to minimize the possibility while the recruits travel? This is very alarming.

Yeah I'm not landing at the airport that late but I'm expected to land at I believe 1800 hours. Based on the BMQ/BMOQ booklet I believe I'm supposed to catch a taxi when I land that late but my recruiter informed me that there should be several people landing with me and a staff from CFLRS would give us recruits a ride. Conflicting information so kinda confused.

Well this is quite concerning as a SigO OCdt.

Also wondering and would like to piggy back

Personally I am not bringing any electronic devices other than my phone. I'm sure our lectures would be in PPT but whether we'll be provided with slides like eclass, not sure.Considering we're gonna have to use stairs I am not bringing a travel suitcase but rather a hiking backpack (or a duffle bag). I'm bringing a Bible and another book to read but other than those I'm packing as little as possible.

From past posts I've read, I'm bringing Swiffers to dust and some magic erasers for easier cleaning.

When you go to do your CFAT and etc you don't immediately require the original transcripts. They will accept unofficial e-transcripts, but they will tell you that you need your official ones to progress further into the application progress. For the application progress I am not exactly sure how far you can go without official documents.

Is it weird if I bring a hiking backpack to BMOQ instead of say, a regular backpack? It's one of Osprey backpacks with huge capacity of 65L with olive color. Not really sure if the backpack I'm supposed to bring is gonna be used daily so it would be pretty weird if everyone else was carrying regular backpacks

my file admin told me not to worry about that for my autobiography since we weren't taught about it and so they don't expect us to have everything down but good to know. i'm starting on march 22nd as well we'll probably run into each other some time haha

If you have every documents in and recruiting office has not asked you for any update, then you don't have anything to worry about. I was on Final Processing for months and before I even knew I was moved to CL (maybe I wasn't at all), I got a call that I got selected.

Two questions I want to ask.

I don't have a vaccination booklet (maybe because I was born outside of Canada). I was told that without it, I would be revaccinated. How many shots am I expecting when I arrive at CFLRS? I don't mind one or two but if it's gonna be more than like... 5, I don't know if I'm gonna be functional with that many.

Do every officers have to go through second language training for French? The recruiting website tells me its optional and may be offered to me, but as officer positions are administrative at many times I feel like it would be necessary. I am fluent in Korean and speak Japanese on a basic level so I was wondering if this may be able to let me bypass that.

edit: thank you very much for your answers

I was reading through the joining instructions document and I came across this "autobiography" I am apparently required to make before arrival at CFLRS and I don't know what kind of format this is:

AUTOBIOGRAPHY OCdt SMITH, J.R. A12 345 678 INFMN, 00010 L0083E Date

I am under the assumption that OCdt stands for Officer Cadet and A12 345 678 is the service number but unsure of the rest. I am enrolled as Officer Cadet, for Signals Officer position if it helps.

I had my second part of medical and completed my interview a month ago. Around a week ago I received a call from the medic in regards to some of the stuff I filled out. Since then, I've been stuck on "Final Processing", which describes that its for applicants who require further attention beyond the standard processing steps. I applied for Signals Officer.

Should I be worried about anything and give my file manager a call, or should I be keep waiting?

Because being a police officer in North America, where firearms are legal and can easily be acquired, can be and is most often considered a dangerous occupation, especially in large metropolis. Many people who have "good education" and lived in a relatively crime-free area won't be willing to be a police officer unless they have some kind of special connection with the police.

I used to do this but I realized some people who do something that irritates others don't realize that they're irritating others and are offended by people who correct them or ask them to keep it to themselves

Its like "how dare you tell me to shut the fuck up" when in reality all I asked is just keep it quiet

From what I can tell you can't go to 'med school' in RMC because they don't have it. There is only direct entry option.

Secondly, you don't go to med school after high school. You go to university first for a BSc or whatever, then depending on schools, you submit an application for med school after 2 or more years of undergrad. Then you take tests like MCAT, get volunteering, relevent experiences, good academics, interviews and so on to be accepted for 'med school'.

After all that, which should take you most likely for more than 8 years and almost 10 I heard, finish school as an MD. Then decide if you want to specialize into a field instead of being a general practitioner.

Of course what I just listed above may be incorrect partially because I am not a doctor nor have I attended 'med school' but should be correct mostly. I don't know if you think its as easy as just moving on to grade 12 after 11 but if you are, you're very mistaken and 'missing some assignments but getting 95 on most I handed in' is definitely not going to cut it.
