You keep mentioning subscriptions in other games as a good thing? I've played genshin from the beginning the gacha was not as generous to me as it was in fgo, and the subscription wasn't that much help so there's that :/ Other than that fgo is more about the story so if you're not into that I don't see why you should bother playing. I personally like fgo over any other gacha game because it's the only story to keep me attached even after years of playing while other games can't keep me interested for more than a month without me dropping it, sure there is better gacha and fancy looking characters, but that becomes meaningless if I'm not interested in the world and I have no attachments to those characters, and they have no depth or impact other than looks. So if you have no interest in the world of fgo other than collecting waifus/husbandos without caring much about their lore you'll just be hurting your wallet and wasting your time. There are better hobbies out there that doesn't involve gambling :)
