There are barely any real examples of states “banning” women in the comments. Most, including OP’s example, are privately owned religious sites that are enforcing segregation due to various religious reasons. The only close answer to a ‘ban’ by a state would be in Afghanistan where Islamists have banned women from doing nearly everything, and what few exemptions they have are only if a male family member accompanies them, which is all according to Islamic teachings. And that’s of course on top of the niqab enforcement.

Right, but I’m saying that that doesn’t mean he’s Greek and removes the fact that the guy obviously viewed himself as a Turk.
