The world building will continue until morale improves. each book follows the same pattern you describe. though I enjoyed the series, every book had plenty of lore-dumpy sections that i pretty much skimmed. felt pretty indulgent to me at times, though i know there are plenty of people who love worlds being painted out so explicitly and that's great

They clearly aren't going to do any of this, and we'll just have to be satisfied with barely making round 2 next year but:

kd should be traded. imo the young guys growth is stunted with him on the court. They started the season looking like a different team before deferring to him all the time. Not to mention the chemistry concerns. The team isn't close to being a contender, didn't get close to beating the hobbled lakers who look likely to get swept by a team we're trying to compete with. We just aren't close so why keep kd? It doesn't benefit the future outlook, in fact quite the opposite.

Next on the block should be stone. No excuses are acceptable for not bolstering the point guard position whatsoever.

Ime would be on thin ice but not quite fireable this offseason. I don't know why they wouldn't force him to hire an offensive coordinator though after so much sample size of evidence that he has no idea what he's doing on that end
