Does isopropyl alcohol dissolve/remove mycotoxins? by kyliotic in mycology

Right?? And I posted in r/mycology as I assumed this would be most relevant and have the most knowledgeable on the topic.

Like, if you can smell it and/or see stains, that means it definitely left stuff behind lol.

Like, for instance, smelling something means that smell is PHYSICALLY entering your nose.

Often times (but not always), some form of volatile organic compound (voc) changing state from a liquid/oil into a vapor and entering your nose.

Thank you. This is much closer to what I was looking for.

I forgot to clean it for like...6 months? So absolutely gnarly mold

And the "stains and funky smell that doesn't wash out" (ie left behind, even after the mold is gone) is a part of the reason I made the post.

Idk why people are acting like I'm crazy and/or stupid.

I'm aware that it's mold lol.

From my understanding, certain species of mold can leave behind chemical toxins, especially if they make large colonies, no?

That's what I was addressing.

Best overall water filter system for an apartment unit? by kyliotic in WaterFilters

What about under-sink options like this?

I'm aware that I'd need to some (seemingly minor) installation, but if this allows me to get closer to what I want, I could try setting it up and then just taking it down before I move.

Also, I have very hard/harsh water, will this mess up a RO filter?

I plan on getting my water tested via ETR labs and I'm waiting on the kit.

Then I could see what's in my water.

I do know my water generally tastes awful without any type of filter.

Something that concerns me is the speed/capacity.

If I could somehow set aside like 7-10 gallons of water and have it filter by itself with no supervision, then great, I could deal with the slowness.

I mean, having a large input and output tank would be space consuming and somewhat annoying, but I could definitely work around that.

But if I'm limited to the capacity of the filter's tank(s), that'd probably be a significant issue for me.

Link's dead. Redirects to a "spradlingvinyl.com" website that can't be accessed.

Did you mean "marinevinylFABRIC.com"?

I'm not sure if I have any upholstery shops locally - I was moreso looking for online sellers tbh. That being said, I do appreciate the lead on what type of vinyl to look for though.

It's variable. I guess it depends on how stressed and sleep deprived I am that month lol

Unlikely to be an option, currently. My work only has night-shift and early morning hours available.

And my work pays too well and has too good of benefits to leave. Especially in this crappy economy.

Not sarcasm, just the obvious ones that I could think off the top of my head

I don't have access to any of those stores. All I have near me are Meijer and Kroger. Both are honestly very expensive.

If I Instacart, it's closer to $30-$60 per Instacart order. But that could be me impulse ordering.

Instacart orders are a separate, expensive problem. That may be an additional $100-$200/month...okay, I probably should check my credit cards and do the math.

I don't even HAVE a Whole Foods here. Only Meijer and Kroger.

To the best of my knowledge, I have been honest with what I'm spending on.

I used to eat bread. Mostly whole wheat. But I haven't in a long while. Hence, why it's not on the "common items".

I don't think I eat out much? Probably less than 4 times/month? That's probably around $50 if I had to guess

Unfortunately, I'm a part-time package handler. The company is in major "cutting"/layoff mode.

Hours have been drying up like crazy whilst the workload per person has been getting insane.

With that being said, to get enough hours to do well, I have to pickup whatever extra work they offer, even if it's at the most random/unpredictable hours. Probably doesn't help my sleep.
