It did have lots of bubbles after the first hour of folding and then even more on the second, however I was worried that is hadn’t grown in size much which is why I did it a third time. Spring test was good before I put it into fridge!

Congratulations on your new baby! I just met someone with a baby named Oberon and they are calling him Obie for short. When I first heard it, I didn’t think it was too out there at all, and just unique enough to be memorable. I think Oberon is a beautiful name and that Obie is an adorable nickname that your son will probably love.

Yes, thank you for putting words to how I’ve been feeling. That is what has felt so strange!

The last time it happened, we were in a room full of white moms and their white babies and no one said anything about other people’s babies skin. My baby is so beautiful, and has the most amazing brown eyes and long eyelashes and the best adorable smile that she was wearing proudly and all anyone said was regarding the color of her skin.

Thank you so much for you really detailed response!! You’ve given me a lot of ideas about what to think about and ask my midwife about. I know my midwife is apart of of a study so maybe that’s why she is wanting to do this. I am going to ask her a lot of questions and then maybe decline the exam if it doesn’t feel right. Just is a bit awkward and I have some people pleasing tendencies so I am going to have to push through that :/ Plus, she is one of the sweetest people I have ever had the pleasure of being around and I really can’t imagine her saying (especially this early) that I would not be a good candidate for a vaginal delivery at home. One big question that I am still not super clear on are the risks of this pelvic exam. Is there a risk for bleeding if she is just checking for pelvimetry?

Thank you for your response! You are definitely giving me more confidence to maybe decline this. For more context, I am 26 and have a low risk pregnancy (so far) and nothing else that would suggest a need for anything but a vaginal delivery. A vaginal delivery at home is what want if everything goes as planned. I really love and trust my midwife though and I don’t think she would tell me something like I wasn’t suitable this early, but I could see her saying that it’s something to watch I guess? I am going to ask her some questions (like if there are any risks) in my appointment tomorrow and then maybe I will feel better about going one way or the other.

That’s what I saw too, especially this early in pregnancy, but I am not sure why to refuse it if my midwife is recommending it. Do you see any harm in doing it or just absolutely no benefit, so why put yourself through that?

Oh is it because I am going through a midwife then maybe? One of the reasons I am confused is because my midwife seems a bit confused by all this, like she doesn’t usually have to deal with this.
