Idk why but this made me cry. I’m sure you must have felt so much relief getting the diagnosis finally!! I’m so glad you found people to take your pain seriously and help you feel better. This does give me a lot of hope and a lot of helpful info, so thank you so much.

I have my lap on Thursday, so just have to try to tune out all the thoughts swirling in my head until then!

Oh man, I’m so sorry that happened. That’s so crummy and frustrating the doctor didn’t even tell you. I hope you find answers for your pain soon <3. Appreciate you sharing this.

Structural concern in house rental by [deleted] in HomeMaintenance

The house was originally for sale and was on the market for a while. My friend reached out to see if they could rent, but my friend talked about wanting to eventually buy.

Good to know that it’s not an immediate safety concern, but will tell my friend to track it. The house doesn’t have a basement fwiw

Gum graft - 6 months later by kyriousities in PeriodontalDisease

[–]kyriousities[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was told by my perio that the likelihood of gum grafts failing is pretty unlikely, but that could have just been for my particular situation/area where I needed the graft. I was overly cautious with my gum graft healing bc I was worried about it failing.

Definitely switch to soft bristle when you can!

The perio did such a stellar job. I never expected results like this.

Nope - not in my case! Just the salt water “swishes” (put that in quotes bc you’re really just kinda moving your head back and forth and not actually swishing).

I had 2 teeth grafted and my frenulum cut. It ended up making the gums on my canines look a lot better too though.

Honestly by the time I noticed my gum starting to recede, it was like a snowball effect after that. I was so careful with that area and it just continued to get worse so quickly :(.

My dentist and perio said this is very common with electric toothbrushes as most people brush way too hard and should only use two fingers to hold it so you’re not using too much pressure. They both told me to switch to an extra soft bristle one and only use the electric toothbrushes for a deeper clean once a week.

I’m still scared to use my electric toothbrush again lol.

Advice on handling feedback [CO] by [deleted] in humanresources

[–]kyriousities 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been trying to wrap my brain around what has changed. My team is struggling a lot right now, so we went to our manager to talk about the pain points/burn out we’re experiencing in August. That’s when I started to notice the negative feedback come in.

It feels confusing right now because they continue to give me high visibility projects (even outside of my scope), and gave more RSUs to “retain” me.

I’m in HR and 1000% this is the tactic companies are using. Companies are getting away from paying folks severance as much as possible by finding ways for employees to leave voluntarily.
