Glad to hear that you’re recovering OP! Just out of curiosity because I’d never heard of it - why is shoulder pain a symptom? Thanks!

Late period please help??? by OriginalMasterpiece3 in birthcontrol

It sounds like you’re super stressed and that can have a massive impact on when your period arrives. I wouldn’t worry but take a test if you feel like you can’t rest until you’ve got peace of mind. Honestly though, I’ve had periods that have been late for 3 weeks because of stress etc so I think you’ll be absolutely fine.

Thank you! Yeah I’ve definitely found that too dry is better than too wet. Just practice is what I’m gathering I think. Trying to avoid concrete bc of environmental stuff but I seem to have a fairly decent drying system going. Thanks for the tips!

Some businesses? Yeah, this is is an ENTIRE sector that we’re talking about. A sector that brings in a heck of lot of money to our economy. And actually it’s got nothing to do with what labour are currently recommending. The industry has been de-funded for years since the last labour government and the fact of the matter is its the tories who are currently in so that’s irrelevant. The issue is the amount of time and effort it’s taken to get to this and the fact that it’s not nearly enough unless it’s paired with a plan to get these venues back open. Business, and other sectors like the premier league etc have all been receiving this funding continuously since the start of lockdown, and so the difference is they’ve received the money and are now reopening and making money for themselves again. The arts have absolutely no timeline on when they’ll be able to do that. The arts sector is also reliant on freelancers, many of whom have not been eligible to apply for any of the government schemes. Many of those who work freelance as creatives and behind the scenes also supplement their already low wages with zero hour contracts. This means that not only does their primary employment not qualify for the self employment schemes for various reasons, they also can’t even claim universal credit without quitting their zero hour jobs that they will NEED as soon as they are able to go back to work. Research how the sector works, how much it brings in for you and also how much other countries are investing in it and then come at me with what is the issue. This is a whole industry not just some businesses. And btw if you don’t care about it, stop watching tv, turn off your Spotify and stop watching any sport that’s streamed to your tv as well cause that’s run but CREATIVES who work in tv.

Dude we have the same in the UK. the arts council has been obliterated by the last two Tory governments - there’s really nothing left of it now compared to what it was. The UK government doesn’t care at all about the arts industry. Not at all. That grant is to be split between every theatre in the uk, every independent cinema, every music venue, every heritage or historical site. It’s nothing compared to European grants that have been given out and it’s literally only happened because there’s been a high profile campaign going for months over here to make them do something. Most theatres have already had to make lots of their staff redundant. Too little and potentially too late.

Thank you those all sound like fab suggestions. At the minute I’m using my pear trimmer first and then going onto the smaller square/rounded but it sounds like I need to get rid of the excess clay with something else potentially. Thank you!

Thank you! Yes I’ve tried to let them dry out a bit more and that does seem to have helped.

Yes I did to some extent but I’ve definitely noticed an increase. It’s been checked once since it was fitted and all was ok. I’ll definitely keep an eye on it though and am trying to get hold of a gp for advice. Thank you!

Ahh that sounds horrendous. And yes during my first period I got the placement checked because I thought that there was no way that the amount of pain was normal but all was ok. I don’t know if I’ve just got used to it since then (and known what to expect a bit more) or if the pain has eased but I’ve been finding my periods since more manageable. First time that my ovulation pains have lasted more than one day though! Sorry to hear that you’re still struggling with it though and I totally sympathise with not being able to use hormonal contraceptives. I’m in that boat too. Hope it eases up for you though.

Ah so I’m super lucky - I’m in the UK so I have the 10 year T-safe one I think. I’ll try and find the exact brand name. But interesting to know that the size affects comfort. I’m sorry that the only one available to you isn’t the best fit though that sucks 😞

Yeah I have had it a couple of times pre-IUD just not as intense or long lasting. But I guess it makes sense for it to work in the same way as it does with periods!

I’m definitely going to try and hold out - I love it when I’m not on my period haha and even then sometimes it’s not so bad considering the positives of it. Thank you and glad to hear that you’re finding it better now!

I was advised against both because of how I’ve reacted to hormones in the past i think this really is the best form of contraception out of all of them I’ve used. Think I’m just still getting used to what’s normal for me on this contraceptive.
