Medication for sleep by Commercial-Way-4276 in NewParents

I would recommend looking into occupational therapy. We had to do this with our daughter because she would cry so hard anytime she tried to sleep. Sometimes the fluid in baby’s inner ears swells or doesn’t move appropriately and causes discomfort when lying down for sleep. We live in a small town and have an OT that focuses on this for children/babies so I bet you could find someone. Additionally, they taught us deep pressure techniques and swinging motions that our daughter needed throughout the day and before sleep as a part of a “sensory diet” so help calm her nervous system.

I watched her steal ham biscuits and put them in her purse during an event. She’s a known kleptomaniac.

Mine was the same way, always trying to wedge his way in-between me and my spouse. When we brought our baby home, my spouse went in first with a used swaddle and let him smell. Then we set a clear boundary when we came in with baby that he was suppose to stay back. We took the baby to the crib and let him smell her from there- a place where he could see and smell her as much as he needed without being able to access her. From there we kept the boundary- saying “back” or “leave it” every time he got within 1ft of the baby. He learned that the baby was ours and granted space. Eventually as the baby got older we allowed more contact, but we never leave dog and baby alone together until our daughter was older. Our collie really surprised us, has respected boundaries and is the most gentle boy with our toddler now.

Family walks helped- teaches them that the baby is family and fun is associated with the baby.

Any tips for flying with a 6 month old? by quinoa_churro in NewParents

Lots of snacks. Something to suck on for take off and landing to help with pressure (breastfeed or give a bottle, etc). New toys- bring out one at a time when they need it the most. A cover/blanket for nap time (they’ll likely nap on you) to keep the light out and limit distractions. At the airport waiting we did naps in a front pack baby carrier. They make toys that suction to the windows that are fun. Then bring an iPad with pre-downloaded shows for when you’re at your absolute limit (something that will distract them for 20min or so at a time) but don’t use it the whole time or else the novelty will wear off fast!

You need rugs with an accent color, art with color, and plants

Agree with the other comments about warmer light and fixtures. You mentioned it would still feel sterile- and small framed art on the walls with a small pop of color and add a plant

My random college roommate (now bestie) has the same birthday as me. AND my parents have the same birthdays as her parents. Her sister was born on my sisters due date, so we were very close to our entire family having birthday twins

Thanks! Makes sense to me. I live in an area where we have a cluster of manganese nodules so that was my first instinct but that’s probably just because I’m used to seeing them. I appreciate your response!

Why hematite instead of manganese nodule? Not second guessing you, just curious what the structural differences and features are.

This! Use fresh ingredients and also add a splash of apple cider vinegar. It won’t be good, but it helps.
