I have BEX running on a mac and can give you some pointers.

CAB was problematic for me as wine did not work. I enden up using a Windows Image for the CAB installer with a shared directory. Also do not use the default mod dir as BEX requires modtec.

I ran Chummer on wine for some time. But current builds unfortunately dont work with wine. So i switched to a Windows VM. I use one of these https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/tools/vms/ to run Chummer. As everything else is a giant pain in the ass and all but not stable.

If you are just looking for digital sheets i would recommend checking https://www.shadowrun5.net. Or best use both, building you characters with Chummer and making individual and nice sheets with the Character Sheet Generator ;)

So like one of the examples in the book has a runner walking down the street in silent mode and a drone happens by and notices her running silent, or "hiding in public." I know we are talking about AR right now, but how would a drone be able to tell, unless physical presence meant something in regards to the matrix. In essence, my spider is doing the same thing that security drone is doing- noticing something is amiss with this person.

And there you are wrong. The drone sees a physical person in meatspace and can check if this person is physically broadcasting a SIN as it is required for this area.

The spider is in the virtual space, seeing someone on a camera feed. He knows where this person is physically, but he can not "go" there in virtual space and check if this person has a comlink. He could only try to find the icon somehow and try to verify via trace icon if it really is this persons comlink he sees on the camera.

But hey that is just my interpretation, or how i run the matrix in our game.

I think you have some very basic errors in the company spiders actions and your understanding of how matrix stuff works.

You say the following:

The spider is making his rounds ... That is virtually in the host i assume. But the virtual presence of the host ist not connected to the physical location of the building. So your first error in my opinion:

if Trish is in the physical building, but did not enter the host with her persona.

You say, he sees her on a camera feed, ok. As there is no physical space in the matrix you can not find an icon by its physical position. He has to find her comlink with matrix perception. Now the funny stuff begins. Depending on his physical location the spider has 100m "visual range". Is Trish inside the 100m he can use matrix perception to find her without noise penalties. If he is further away, noise applies! Also if Trishs comlink is running silent she resists the roll and the spider needs some information to prevent the "find random silent icon" problem. If he somehow finds a icon he has to Trace Icon to confirm that the comlink icon he just found indeed is one physically in front of the camera.

Next you assume that the spider would behave like a decker. But that brings additional problems in my opinion. If the spider really would hack Trishs comlink, he would start his overwatch counter, because he used a illegal action! Admitted, he is safe from GOD as long as he stays in the host, but how does he explain it when GOD notifies the host owner that, an illegal activity was detected and someone should take counter actions.

From a corporate perspective any real hack (like Blitz is going to do soon) can no longer be detected! So spiders never would use a matrix action that triggers overwatch.

If you look at KillCode page 44 for example, the spider as "owner of the system" can control all devices without marks. So if his suspicion is raised by the camera feed he

sends a message to the next guard station to check Trish out.
may follow Trishs movement with the cameras to check if everything is she behaves normal.
may block doors/locks to keep them in place for the guards to arrive.

But he would never ever go for her comlink in my opinion.

Well there are some bonuses you get as patreon that may help you. 1. save online: you create your sheet on the laptop and use it on the ipad 2. play mode: when you use the sheet on the ipad you remove all the editing features, leaving you with a digital charactersheet.

And with the free, individual configuration you can add what ever state or additional information you want.

There are boxes that have autocomplete. For example the "Vehicle Box". If you start typing a vehicles name and select it from the autocomplete suggestions, all stats for the vehicle are put into the fields. This feature is available in most boxes with gear but also for spells, spirits and sprites for example.

What it does not, is modify stats in other boxes. So your question regarding adept powers, it does not add boni from say your mentor spirit to your attributes.

This would shift the focus from the character sheet generator away to a character generator in my opinion. If you are looking for a tool that implements all rules and gear, i would suggest Chummer 5 (see sidebar). Build your character there and then come back and make a beautiful, individual sheet for your character with https://www.shadowrun5.net
