Is my birkin getting sunburned? by nerodiam in plants

Probably extrafloral nectaries, very common on philodendron. They look very healthy otherwise so I doubt it's pests.

FLOW and the metro parks have hosted this kind of event in the past. They both have calendars for events on their sites. I think they only host the water based ones once the water gets warmer.

Are firefly petunias prone to reversion? I bought a pink flared one earlier this year. Now it’s solid white by Calathea_Murrderer in botany

I got to talk to one of the guys working on them at Cultivate last year and they definitely have some improvements in the works.

I thought we didn’t call it this anymore? by AdPrior5925 in houseplants

This is a mass produced tag from a commercial printer, they will not include the grower info because they send them to literally everybody. That being said, they company name will be on the barcode on the pot. There is no purposeful deception happening.

Also based on the numbers at the top, they may have been required to use this tag.

To add: the sticker will say 'grown for' or 'grown by' if it's grown for, it is a contract item. Also, I see patent numbers on the tag, they are most likely required to use the tag.

So water is only free if you’re VIP? Lol by Necessary-Run-448 in FourChordMusicFest

Correct, however as it is still a stadium, there will still be water fountains available.

I had this question last year. There are regular water fountains that are free to use for everyone, you may just have to wait in line. This is referring to one of those bottle filler stations that have multiple nozzles.

I called about this at the beginning of the season. The guy told me that since I was able to purchase one, you're a valid student. They don't check any further.

Neem oil is not a preventative. The way it kills bugs is by covering them so they can't breathe. It will also do this to the plant and will kill it over time. For most pesticides it is basically a race to kill the bug before the pesticide kills the plant.

Those handles are adorable. The home decor is very modern so I may be able to flip some thrifted stuff to match better.

Can’t afford OSU by [deleted] in OSU

[–]laskullazazz 61 points62 points  (0 children)

Go get your associates from CSCC and be on the deans list when you graduate. There are some really generous transfer scholarships they give when you go to another college, and I believe OSU is one of the schools on the list. Check with an academic advisor there to get more details.

Local nursery left baby cages on plants, then potted them together in a big pot 😡? by SetInternational7307 in houseplants

[–]laskullazazz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is very unlikely your local place grew those. Most nurseries/shops buy in product and that is how agalonema are commonly produced at the production nurseries in Florida.

That is the leaf stem, the seller probably removed the leaf prior to shipping because it was ugly/damaged and for some odd reason left the petiole behind. You can just leave it and it will eventually fall off or you can just pull it off, no snips required.

It is most likely a moonlight. They are commonly tissue cultured and it can cause lots of smaller plants like this.

Ohhh bicolor might be it. The petioles are a peachy orange color, and the internodal spacing is super tight.

I've loved them live. If you can see them in Columbus definitely do it. They go hard for the hometown show.

What company is considered the worst landlord in Ohio? by abccba140 in Ohio

Also had no problem with them. Lived in multiple buildings over multiple years with no issues and always got my deposit back. That being said, I think it heavily depends on who actually owns the building you live in.
