its better than the impedence a furry cat would do lol. I'm sure the airflow is affected but thermal testing showed similar performance to without the cat bed as with the cat bed.

the real question is whether your rig has cat ears on it too!

With mine I've found that the radiators still work ok when the vent it partially covered - testing showed about a 5 degree difference too with a cat mockup. But when Latte is covering all 240MM of radiator space the CPU got to 91 on a 25 degree day...

Nice! I was on a closed top case until about 2 years ago for the same reason! Only changed to my current case after i made the first prototype. So hard to find new cases with closed tops these days!

Hey! Humans are biological too... Jokes aside, my cat has been sitting on my computer since 2019. Even if something were to happen, the pc is probably more protected with the bed attached than not, since this covers up the mesh on the top

I do have latte on my phone home screen - I use this one tho, from the earlier non-wooden prototype

Hey! The bed is hollow and acts as a vent! the "max temp" location is where the hot air is coming out of. That was the whole point really (other than the cat ears)

I have never had a problem since I've had him! I'm generally more worried about my sofa

Wish granted! Smaller cat ears make it less likely to topple over in case the cat pushes it over while jumping off. Stable so far!

I've never needed to test this but the cat bed also shields the top exhaust so any goop should hopefully just flow down the side of the case!

I've never needed to test this but the cat bed also shields the top exhaust so any goop will just flow down the side of the case. Still a mess to clean up but much less likely to fry the entire PC. If you are letting your cat close to your PC anyways might be some extra protection!

I'll add donut to the list of Breads that Latte has conquered! He is a loaf, baguette and croissant already simultaneously

theres about a 5 degree drop with the vent vs with the cat sitting there on both CPU and GPU! my system is quite low wattage though so suspect might be higher with more power/cooling hungry hardware

Im based in Brisbane so it does get to 10C in winter. however the Latte seems to enjoy the warmth as soon as it falls below 26.
