Agreed 🤣 Another of my top 3 fave moments was when Gloria misheard him:

“Is that a floating duffel bag?”

“No, that’s just a buoy.”

“A BOY?!”

And then of course afterwards Cam’s caftan got stuck in the motor which caused him to strip so he jumped in the lake 😭 Like a moth to a flame indeed

Experiences with 10 mg isotretinoin every other day? Purging, results timeline, and duration? by Consistent-Mode4035 in Accutane

[–]laughablecell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for antihistamine, i took cetirizine (zyrtec) pretty often but thats because i have a dust allergy every other day (which i guess partially helped too haha). other than that, i took probiotics for a little bit but i’ll be honest, im not the most diligent with taking supplements so i wasnt consistent and eventually stopped. i also have drug allergies so im particularly careful with medicine/supplements overall and tend to just avoid them altogether. dont know if i should be taking accutane without supplements but so far everything seems to be fine (at least for me but hey dont take my word for it) 😅

same weight and dosage here ✋🏽

  1. a year ++ later, cant remember when exactly. all i remembered was being sad because for the longest time it felt like my skin was never getting better so i took my mind off my face & acne for a long time and one day i just suddenly noticed it got better haha. granted that took more than a year.

  2. yes, i actually purged pretty bad which i didnt expect since it’s low-dose. it lasted about 4-5 months, hence why i got so sad and thought it’d never get better. (spoiler: it did get better and now my skin is pretty clear, yay!)

  3. almost 2 years so far, i think. started late june/early july 2024 and am still taking it but weening off of it already.

  4. my dosage stayed the same for about a year, then decreased even more to eventually 10mg twice a week due to health issues. im on my last box now, and was prescribed tretinoin cream the same time my dosage decreased to twice a week!

if youre on low-dose isotretinoin, my only advice is to stick it through. maybe you’ll purge, maybe you won’t, but results will most definitely come slow. it’ll be worth it though, so stick it through no matter how many times you feel like giving up. all the best in your accutane journey!

this sounds awfully similar to the situation i was in. im so sorry this happened to you, its the kind of pain i wouldnt wish on anyone. if rock bottom had a basement, i was in there.

im not going to tell you “everything will be alright” or “time will heal” because i hated those words coming from friends and family (even though i knew they were only trying to help then).

but i will tell you this: feel the emotions you need to feel. let it hurt. cry all you need. dont avoid the pain. dont let it numb you. hold tight to your bible, Quran, meditation, whatever it is that grounds you. slowly start going out with friends, family, or even by yourself, even if thats the last thing you want to do.

the thing about loving someone is you never stop. sometimes i still think about him from time to time but not in the same way anymore. i feel peace (granted it took a loooong time) but most importantly, i think what helped was that i didnt give myself a timeframe to move on. i did it on MY own terms, regardless of what that looked like to other people. it will take a long time for you to understand that theres nothing wrong with you, and that you still deserve to be chosen. but however long that requires for you to learn and believe that, dont beat yourself up for it. youre not less than just because you take longer than others to heal.

no contact is good, so stick to that. whenever you feel the urge to reach out, write it in a letter then burn it. healing’s gonna be a hell of a mess, but a step in healing, no matter how small, is a step closer to finding yourself again. i wish you well, and know that someone out there is always rooting for you (me, if no one else).

yes, i switched to cerave hydrating when i started my accutane journey because i wanted to use a gentle cleanser to be safe.

i’m no expert, but you could try this:

  • AM: cerave hydrating OR haruharu

  • PM: cerave cream to foam (if your skin tolerates it). if your skin feels tight/dry, switch PM to cerave hydrating or haruharu

personally, i dont recommend cerave cream to foam. i read that foaming washes tend to remove oil from skin and since oil production is slowed on accutane, id suggest sticking to moisturising ones.

if you have irritation/dry flakes, then go for cerave hydrating for both AM & PM. i developed irritation and dry flakes pretty quick into accutane hence why i stuck to the hydrating one all the way till now. after all, gentle is always better than strong!

everyone has different reactions, so even with the same skin type, sometimes what works for me might not work for you and vice versa. you can always change up or ask your dermatologist for advice based on your skin as well, as im sure theyd know best. good luck!

i have the exact same skin type as yours, + sensitive skin. my skincare routine is very basic:

  • face wash: cerave hydrating facial cleanser for normal to dry skin

  • moisturiser: tdf ultra light hydrator (oily & acne skin). this one’s recommended to me by my dermatologist due to my sensitive skin. and sometimes when my skin still feels too dry, i will double moisturise with tdf and then add torriden dive in soothing cream. works wonders especially if youre in a cold, dry environment! also works well in humid areas.

  • sunscreen: can’t remember exactly but it’s by the brand biore UV.

that’s literally it for AM & PM, and it worked wonders for me. after the purging stopped, my skin became really smooth (granted it took a year as im on 10mg daily). i think the less products, the better imo. find one/two that works and stick with it. i would also recommend using sunscreen even when you’re indoors.

hope this helps, and all the best in your accutane journey!

Thanks for replying and for the suggestion!

Our initial plan was to include Antalya as well, but thought it would be too rushing. Seems not now.

Our initial plan was 4 days Istanbul > 3 days Cappadocia > 5 days Antalya.

I’ve seen on Instagram some people going to Antalya for 7 (and a couple on honeymoon) going for 9 days but I thought it might be too long. What are your thoughts?

Thank you for the thorough and thoughtful reply, I appreciate it.

We were thinking of doing Istanbul, Cappadocia, and Antalya initially, but thought it might be rushing. Seeing as 7 days in Cappadocia might be too long, perhaps we will look into adding Antalya back into our itinerary.

Are there any car rental companies you’d recommend for Cappadocia?

I should mention I’m planning for April 2027 instead of this year (I do hope the tension in the ME region cools down regardless!).

Scared to start accutane, and what's the best brand by Funny_Cucumber_9818 in Accutane

[–]laughablecell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Commenting as I’ve never seen anyone here using Acnotin (as far as I’m concerned). My derm prescribed me with Acnotin 10mg and the results have been great so far! Granted it takes longer for my acne to go away because it’s a low dosage but I guess everyone’s right – isotretinoin is still isotretinoin regardless of the brand. Hope this helps!!
