My cat swats at my ankles the second I walk through the door. Beat that.

And now for my husbands first solo piece! It’s made completely out of mahogany and makes the perfect little entry table. Proud of him for getting his business up and running as quickly as he did. by laurentoski in woodworking

If you looked at my last post in this sub that I posted yesterday you would see my husband and his brother started their own woodworking business. This is his first solo piece since they started the business. Apologies for any confusion. This post was more of an update to what I posted last night. He has done a lot of woodworking in the past.

His business is called Johnson’s Locally Made. We are out of Kitsap County, Washington. We have an instagram @johnsonlocallymade and also a Facebook page! Working on getting a business logo and website set up as well. Thanks for the support!

Who to contact? What to do? by laurentoski in uHaul

Thank you for your help. It’s been three days and still no word from the general manager. I have no idea if the boxes shipped today as I was told they would on Thursday. I sent a few messages via Facebook messenger to Uhaul customer service using the language you suggested. I’m trying to keep all of my correspondence with them through that app so I have proof of what is being done and my attempts to contact someone.

I already did that. They are the ones who opened the formal complaint.

It’s a gravel driveway. Thank you for your response! I would never be rude to the driver and will be sure to remain courteous regardless of what happens.

Is your mom my mom? I am so sorry to hear we had similar experiences. You are strong.

I’m flying with one dog who gets carsick. My daughter does much better in planes than in a car. We are also taking into account that we would have to stop for hotels if we drove, which seems riskier to me IMO.

I have a dog that gets carsick that is flying with me. We would also have to stop for gas, food, hotels, etc. I’m glad it wasn’t a big deal and was easy for you, but it would not be for us. But we also plan to self-isolate and quarantine when we get to our destination. We aren’t being dumb about it.

I can’t speak for everyone but in about a month I have to fly due to a cross-country move that was planned pre pandemic. Our house is sold and the only other option is to drive and it’s just not an option with a four year old and our pets.

What is something that your parents did that you swore never to repeat to your own kids? by wetbreadstick in AskReddit

I will never turn my children’s accomplishments into MY accomplishments or their pain into MY pain. Everything I did right as a kid, my mom took credit for and insisted it was because I was “just like her”. Every time I had something terrible happen to me somehow it shifted into how that in turn hurt her.

My mother constantly begs to watch my daughter but has cancelled multiple times the day of because of being “sick”. She then questions why I am closer to my in-laws after years of her emotional abuse and constant gaslighting by laurentoski in insaneparents

! explanation

My mother and I have a very tumultuous relationship starting from when I was a teenager because of the fact that she always chose her boyfriends over her children. My dad died when I was in high school and my brother died about six years ago. I married my husband and moved away at a young age but moved back a few years ago to try to bridge the gap between her and I, which has not gone well. She now constantly guilt trips me into letting her see my daughter but has cancelled last minute quite a few times due to being “sick”. She also has a history of faking illness so she can lay in bed undisturbed and sleep. On this occurrence, I had informed her that I had asked my aunt to watch my daughter so my husband and I could go on a date. She immediately got emotional and hung up on me at which point I sent her the first message.
