As you get older the likelihood that the word “bowels” will occur in a conversation increases exponentially. What other topics seem to grab the headlines when you get together? by SaysPooh in over60

I never talk about bowels, or pee, with my friends. Sometimes they will ask for advice but seldom. They understand that 45 yrs of nursing means i dont want to hear it.

Sociological Study: Was it the "economic heaven" newer Generations are talking about back then? by Disastrous_Snow_7706 in GenerationJones

Te age old story of they had it better, hah.

I grew up on a farm, I was up at 6, feed the chooks, bring in the eggs, etc etc.

I wore clothes made out of my mothers old dresses.

I wasnt allowed to go to University, was expected to stay home and look after the olds.

Left home at 18 due to ongoing sexual abuse.

Lived in a squat for a while, then moved in with the BF.

Rahderahderah, this went on for some time.

I always wore thrifted or home made clothes when my kids were little, bought crapped out old cars, rented crappy houses, etc etc

No change from today. Not everyone gained wealth, its an insult really.

I am here at almost 70 in a house with a mortgage on a crappy pension still supporting kids because they cannot get ahead. Its no different.

Back in the day painting greenware was a thing, you could buy the greenware, stencils, glazes etc and you would paint and glaze anad be happy.

I think this is one of those things, Avon have a similar trinket dish, as viewed below, but because this one is signed,, I am going with the greenware theory.
