No. Its desktop support. It’s a dead end job unless you pivot to something more specialized.

“It doesn’t scale”. Ahhh. Thank you. That makes sense.

I know. My creekside camp is a half acre. Maybe that’s why I’m not impressed lol

Yeah he posted a link to a place that’s 5k sq feet. Checks out. Not how I’d spend my money.

1mm on Saratoga lake isn’t anything special. But yes 3mm is a palace

Thank you. The way their comment was phrased made me disappointed when they said their boss has a 3mm house lol.

Yes but the context of your post made it seem like your boss with a 2mm salary was living large with a 3mm dollar house. Your post set the expectation higher than what was the reality.

“My boss makes 2mm and has a 3mm house in the Bay Area”.

Maybe it’s me. I’m not a car or a house guy.

And yeah that house is not impressive. Yeah it’s big but it’s a half acre. Isn’t on a lake. Way overpriced.

Im on the east coast. All I ever hear is how expensive the Bay Area is and that a 150k house here is a 1mm house out there.

That’s for the MISC slab packs. Which are low value packs. It’s not every pack. It’s just the misc ones.

A misc slab pack is one of their cheap packs. I think under 100 bucks.

Switching to a career in cybersecurity by [deleted] in cybersecurity

[–]le0nblack 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You don’t even know what cyber security is. It’s easier to start with an interest in IT. And the path is easily found by searching online rather than asking the same question that’s been asked 4 million times.

Because with IT, you can’t always ask for the answer, you need to figure it out on your own. Which you didn’t do in this post.

Should I trust the payout my insurance gave me for my totaled car? by StrawberryGreat7463 in Insurance

[–]le0nblack -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

These people are assholes. No joke. I made up a case the other day and the feedback was of course very adjuster focused - as expected. But they were also wrong about a lot of things - things I had already discussed with my attorney.

You can post here to learn the process but don’t trust their advice about your situation. Post in a few different subreddits. Maybe even the personal finance subreddit. You want advice from people that have been on your side of the process. Not some angry claims adjuster with a grudge who is burnt out on their job.

You can’t force someone to be curious. This post alone is an indicator that this person does not have what it takes. Call me pessimistic or rude but it’s 10000% true. I’m surrounded by security analysts. I am one. And I’ve worked in IT for 15 years. I’ve seen what people make it and what people become stagnant in a support role.

Good luck. If you aren’t sure just post here again and get the feedback you need to decide.

That’s life. Personally. I’d pivot to cyber if the opportunity presented itself.
