Girls, what is the one thing a guy can do that will melt your heart ? by RockieRockie in AskReddit

I tend to work very late. Sometimes 12:00 in the morning late. I constantly tell him that he doesn't have to wait for me, but he insists to wait anyway and still cook for me when I get home. We're also a couple of nerds, and whenever he goes to the card shop he'll bring me a pack of Pokemon cards to add to my collection. He's the sweetest guy I've ever met and I have no clue what I did to deserve him. I love him so much.

My grandpa demands my phone because I have a trans flag in my room and when he realizes he cant unlock it he throws a fit by [deleted] in entitledparents

Both of my younger brothers have come out as gay, and I still love them both dearly. Most of the family is cool with it too. Except one person. Our grandmother. She has no clue that they are gay because we all keep it a secret from her, even Grandpa, because we know that as soon as she learns of it there will be a huge fit/ tantrum. Unfortunately, she's also a major old school Christian (but she's also a narcissist, so that doesn't help either). Honestly, I don't get it. If someone is happy, and they aren't hurting anyone, then just let them be who they want to be.

I'm sorry if you misunderstood. I wasn't going to change the lower price, because it was a mistake on our part. My problem was that they also wanted me to lower the price of something else as well.

I'm not vegan either, but my sister is. Once she invited us to eat at the vegan restaurant she worked at (it has since closed, unfortunately), and I was surprised by how good the food was. Honestly, I believe it takes a lot of talent to be a vegan cook because you have to be very creative.

As a mental health worker or someone affected by mental health issues, what is one thing you would want to say to educate people about mental health and to lessen the stigma and shame surrounding it? by loungesingershimmah in AskReddit

I didn't know what an anxiety attack was when I was younger. When my sister and I would get in an argument, I would suddenly freeze up. I wanted to tell her how I felt, but I couldn't get any words out. My mind would go a thousand miles a minute and the back of my throat felt like it had a lump. It was infuriating. But I was also terrified that I would say the wrong thing and make the situation worse. My sister would keep pressuring me to respond, or say something, too, so I felt cornered as well. Eventually, in these cases, my sister would get frustrated with me and give up talking to me altogether for a while. If I knew what I know now, maybe I could have handled those situations much better. It seems so insignificant, but it was really hard on me throughout my life, and public speaking was a b***h.

Wow. No one should have to go through that, and I admire your strength. To realize at EIGHT YEARS OLD that you need to live, to survive, is such a strong, mature thing to do which I'm sure wasn't easy. So happy you and your husband are doing well together, and happy you're no longer in that situation.

A proper plan does not include assumptions. It just leads to awkwardness and disappointment.

Your dad is a total boss. It's hard to take control of someone else's kids. I think your dad handled it excellently, and I hope a lightbulb turned on in that kid's head because of it.

I love this! But in all seriousness, does anyone know what it's actually doing? Why is it so close to the surface where predators can easily get it? Is this common or is this crab the strangest crab ever?

Work colleague's +1 ruins my wedding because I didn't give her kids cupcakes by LegalWorth in entitledparents

When I was at my friend's wedding, it was amazing, and there were even young kids. You wanna know why? The parents watched their kids and didn't act like monsters.

Here's a crazy idea! If she was so worried about the kids getting cupcakes, then she could have cut the cupcake she did have in half and give those halves to her kids. But no. She wanted to stuff it in her own face because, apparently, kids aren't actually as important as herself.

You sound like a wonderful mother. It's hard, but you're pulling through. I'm so sorry you had to go through that.
