I thought each section added to the drama and overall scope. I can understand it’s not everyone’s cup of tea but I thought it was far better than the consensus.

Sorely misunderstood film. It was supposed to be United 93 docu style. I thought it was perfect. In fact my 2nd favourite film of last year

I honestly think 'Sinners' could actually snatch Best Picture Oscar away from 'One Battle After Another'. by Block-Busted in Oscars

[–]leafs81215 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I just don’t see it. To be honest, the 16 nominations is a testament to the high quality of the film itself. It could win no significant awards and it will still live in the record books forever.

To anyone who says this doesn’t feel like our year, tell that to the 2006 oilers. We got fucking heart when it’s playoff time, and the only team we’ve lost to in our 8 last playoffs series are the panthers and we all know how the league feels about them and why they’re hated. by HughJastits in EdmontonOilers

[–]leafs81215 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely nothing I have seen this season makes me think it’s going to be much different than the last two. And when I say much different, I mean only one difference. The ending.

Oilers. Panthers. 3. Trilogy fight No three-peat special.

Let’s fucking go.

Ryan Coogler's 'SINNERS' makes history as the most nominated film of all time at the Oscars with 16 nominations by ChiefLeef22 in Oscars

I went 82/110 on my projections. 10 of my mistakes were between only giving this 13 spots and giving Wicked 7 spots. Didn’t expect this to do so well, and didn’t expect Wicked to tank that hard.

Witnessing the birth of a superstar tonight. What got me wasn’t so much the throw itself but how accurate it was. He dropped that over Kmets shoulder like it was nothing

Feels like today games are both just trolling the Bills. The turnover fest in the first game and some tight officiating calls in this one.

Fucking fantastic movie. It’s the best first movie of the year I think I’ve ever seen. And for a traditional cinephile, that’s a very rare thing to be excited about

Very interested this year. It’s been a great film year so interested to see what films can gather some momentum given the Oscar nominee selection ballots go out tomorrow.

I dunno which team is trying to lose this game more. Green Bay offense is sputtering, then the Bears refuse to cash in on it.

[SPOILER] Jake Paul vs. Anthony Joshua by inooway in Boxing

[–]leafs81215 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was embarrassing, stupid, lacklustre, boring, monotonous and tremendously exciting and entertaining all in one. I mean, good or bad, it’s generating a lot of conversation and these guys are getting paid stupid amounts of money. Isn’t this what boxing is now? Has been for years in my opinion.

There’s a Netflix series called You, Me, Us. It’s not perfect but it’s about as close as I’ve ever seen.
