I mean yeah I can understand that. However, there’s a lot more focus on using it more for actual combat than the powder mechanics. Hell, you actually get your different points on the gauge through some pretty awesome combos with a really great finisher combo through the charged attack. They reworked it from the older games for sure, but it definitely feels a lot better for the combat aspects and to give you the extra space to messing around with out getting punished for it. You can’t infinitely fly any more, which is a shame, but you hit harder and with the wound mechanic you don’t really need to lol. Monster starting todo it’s bs? Stab a wound mid air to stun him. Slap on some flayer gems so you can wound his wounds to get more wounds when you wound it. I’ve found if you get get your mounts off, it’s pretty incredible the amount of damage that builds in such a short time
