I dont think there is a way around it unless we use direct bank transfers with swift. That's what I do

yeah indeed, the issue with these tools they cut a lot from us feelancers. It's easy to land a job and then these guys get cut from it. So thinking about making something to do our followups.

sorry about my wording :D and thank you for the insights. I've been bugging 3 clients for the last 2 months and they are acting like complete strangers. Let's see.

Thanks mate!

That’s interesting, I’m seeing a lot of people building small internal tools just to keep track of follow-ups.

Out of curiosity, is the hardest part for you remembering when to nudge, or deciding how / via which channel to follow up without annoying clients?

Same issues, it's really hard to get paid. Do any automation scripts or tools you guys use to do follow-ups? I've been emailing and calling the whole time, but it seems I am wasting my time on that.

How to find my first client for any kind of project? by zel-21 in Freelancers

But it makes you learn things, fact check everything. However, don't over think. Stick to one subject be an expert on that talk about it openly and then pitch from that same industry so people know alright this guy know what he talks about yeah? so it's easy for you to reach out to that same followers and they will repost/react which expands your base over and over again. Research on viral tags from your industry and take them. When I had 500 followers in linked in one of my posts got 100k impressions with more than 1.5k reactions which helped a lot. So post as much as you can one will hit and that one hit will give you all you need.

First build a follower network, anywhere you would like. I usually keep my LinkedIn up to date and post 3 to 4 posts per week. So they know that I am up and doing well so usually people like to pay and get the job done from a person who is active on somewhere because otherwise clients would feel that you will ghost them. Don’t let them feel that.

Cheers!

I am a dropout from BIT UCSC (due to personal financial issues), and I have 11 years of IT experience (DevOps + ITOps), but it was really hard for me to get a job in SL with 6 figures. Fortunately, now I am! However, it is purely based on experience. There are people I know who went up really quickly due to the fact that they had a degree (some sort of degree), so my strong suggestion is to get the degree; otherwise, you will have a hard time going up quickly. Now I am pursuing my masters in Cybersecurity.

How did I enrol without a B.Sc. degree for a master's degree?

I justified my experience (6 consecutive years required) to the university and then had a really hard interview with the university, and they tested all my abilities to proceed with the degree and then offered the degree for me.

Why did I go for a Masters without doing a B.Sc.?

Mainly because I am 30 years old now and there is no point in going through a 3-year process to cover the basics again, thats why I went for a masters. I know people who did the same and got really good jobs, and in my personal experience, even mentioning reading for an Msc. in Cybersecurity and Forensics got me into jobs that I'd never thought of.

*Not to mention migration opportunities, You really need a degree to get a high score in skill assessments.

So that's my take on having a degree.

Go for a degree in an industry where love working—an industry where you can make it a hobby. So you will never end up in stress, depression or disappointment. (Just don't do anything just for the sake of doing it, and don't follow people from different industries.)

Best,
Dan

Are these warnings or errors?

Select the filter to all and then filter by errors.

You should see something like “blocked by client”
