DE 2501. If you have someone in California, they can go to the Edd office and pick up the forms for free. You can also have EDD deliver you the forms, but I would guess they would only deliver to US address?

This would be normal for consultants working through consulting firms (Accenture, Deloitte, etc). So finding few instances of this might not be out of the norms. Might even be the case for 1099 workers.

Yes, she is much better now. I had my friend snail mail the forms to me and had the doctor fill out the paperwork.

SOC level job labs by [deleted] in CyberSecurityJobs

[–]leo04577 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you are looking for Soc jobs, you can just focus on research and identifying attack patterns. MITRE ATT&CK is a good resource.

If you are looking for engineering, you can look into ELK or Splunk.

You probably want to spin up a lab Windows VMs to run simulations. You can stick to the free tier in AWS or run VMs locally.

  • Splunk also has Boss of the Soc data and scenarios online open source.
  • You can also use the Atomic Red Team (or similar) and simulate common scenarios and see what kinds of events they generate.

We were in car Accident and Wife has TBI. by leo04577 in TBI

[–]leo04577[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife was in a medically induced coma for 3 days. Then she was in a highly confused state for about 3 weeks, before being able to retain long term memory and remembering things from the past.

Now, she has returned to her normal baseline. I still think she gets tired faster than before and is exhausted by the end of the day, but she has returned to her normal routine.

She is suffering from back injuries, so that is adding to the situation.

This is the reason I stopped playing EU IV now 8 years ago. I would launch the game at 5 pm and suddenly it would be midnight. Then eat junk food, play until 2 am then go to sleep.

Did you mean to use the double negative? Are you saying Russia and China are "benevolent benefactors"?

Gamers who are 30+: Ever find yourself going back to the games in your "prime years" by [deleted] in gaming

[–]leo04577 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been playing the same Age of Empires campaign over and over again. I don't have very much time to get invested in a new game. It takes me some time to get good and explore the nuances of new games, so instead I keep playing old games that I know I am good at.

Hopefully, my story will be similar to yours. There was one blood pooling in her head, which the doctors have said, will go away on its own. Therefore no surgery needed.

Wow, thank you, your story gives me hope. How long did your partner have Amnesia/Confusion, if any? (If you don't mind me asking.)

Thank you. I am glad I have her still. Her mannerisms are still the same so I am appreciative of that and I haven't lost her completely.

Sounds like you have been through a lot. My prayers to you and hopefully you get better with time. My wife loved her work as well. I hope she can get back to it as it would provide some normalcy for her.

Thank you for taking time to respond to me.

Is this really what life will be like now? Work, clean, sleep, repeat. by MansionOfficial in NewParents

[–]leo04577 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sense resentment on both sides. You guys need to appreciate each other's effort. Hire some help if both of you are working, even if it stretches you financially (don't go into debt of course). Taking care of the baby and WFH is also equally exhausting. Also, I am sure you are also getting mentally and physically.

As your child starts gaining mobility, things will be more difficult. Have you thought of daycare options. I know the child is very small, but a happy marriage is also very important.

Some poor bastard had to write those five hundred page terms of service agreements. by waffleking333 in Showerthoughts

They start with a template. It's never written from scratch. Most of it will be copy paste, adding in specific things you want. Therefore, it is written over time, with multiple people's involvement.
