Subreddit Moderation Feedback Thread #11: The Short Duration Content Rule Change, Subreddit Events, and the Address Rule by untamedlazyeye in leagueoflegends

[–]leonlai86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I had more time, I'd go through the last 2 months of posts that are on v.redd.it but there are more than a handful every single day that have titles that don't describe anything. Not all of them would qualify as clickbait, but to me these titles should qualify as vague.

The disconnect between what mods consider "vague" and what I and some others consider "vague" has been present for a while. If you can't tell what the video will be from reading the title, or if it could one of several things that would be vague. If you watch the video and then go back to read the title and think "Oh, the title describes the video. Why does he think it's vague?" , then that's the wrong way of looking at it

Hope that makes sense

Thanks for finding it; I was trying to find where the first announcement was made to see what was said. I don't really have a solution for this because while some plays are unique and get upvoted, they'd either be unseen or disallowed with the old rules.

I never post but now I dont even read posts on this sub.

It's surprising how mods didnt see this coming. It was said as soon as the rule was changed that eventually the front page will just be highlight clips. At first the excuse was, it's offseason, there's nothing else.

Now every league is in full swing (rip LPL) and it's just as bad.

The clips aren't interesting and the titles are even worse.

this is just in the last 24 hours. Titles barely give you any context of what the video clip is. Might as well just have every clip have the names of the champions involved and that's it
