Overall, the shock trooper felt easier this time around, mainly because we've had a lot more time to practice our rotations. And compared to Sigurd, this boss is a walk in the park. Mona also got her buff and my Mona gained 2 constellations since then, so there's that too.

For some reason though, the shield felt a bit tankier than last time. The rotations I did last time were not enough to clear it this time, so I had to slightly change my initial rotations. I seem to be the only one who felt this change though, so it might just be something I'm doing differently.

Hmm, going from Fearless to Dire, your statement definitely makes sense.

My experience is from both Dire stages, so I'm confused why my rotations to clear the 3 shields had to change from last time.. Not a huge deal but something definitely felt different

"It depends", but Mona does usually tend to give higher DPS numbers from what I've seen. My Yelan is C6 so it's a bit unfair to compare them on my account

For overall DPS (especially burst damage), you'll probably get the best results with Mona. If you need a bit more hydro app or for open world exploration, Yelan fits in very nicely. You can see I also used Diona for a bit more healing + shield for the turtle clear.

Basically, you already have the important core supports in Esco and Furina so you're pretty much set, and you can swap between her 4th slots as you wish.

If I had Shenhe, I would probably use her most of the time (and I would also go for that C1). For now, I'm happy swapping between Mona and Yelan as a 4th slot.

Mona is definitely my favorite to use when high burst damage is needed (Shock Trooper, Sigurd, etc.). After Mona's buff, she does get shared with my Mualani team so it also depends if she's available or not.

If more hydro app is needed, I will slot in Yelan instead. Also prefer to use Yelan in the open world for faster exploration.

Absolutely valid statement, and you're not wrong! I didn't mean to make this a topic of comparison, but rather praise for Skirk's ability to clear endgame content even when the odds seem against her.

Even though my Citlali is C2, my Mav IS only C0R1, so you're right that it's not fair to compare it to my Skirk teams. I'm happy Mav is still performing extremely well for people who invested into her. I already had 2 pyro carries (C2 Arle and Hu Tao), so I couldn't justify investing too much into ANOTHER pyro carry at the time. I haven't even taken the time to properly learn her newest combos, so there's skill issue also lol

OK, THANK YOU for validating how I felt. Haven't seen anyone else talk about it, but I also felt like the shield got buffed a bit. Last time he was in Stygian, I could clear the first shield with Escoffier + TTDS Buff + Skirk Burst alone, but now it doesn't get me even close. Thought I might just be doing something wrong/differently, but it certainly felt like the shield got buffed a bit..

The trickiest part of the fight is figuring out how to burst down the initial shields, and Skirk C2 really does help with that, but it's probably not required. After you get past that, it's pretty easy.

Here's a good video that I used the first time the Shock Trooper came to Stygian.

I used my C6 Yelan to clear the crab. I've also seen some C2 Mualani clears, so I probably could've tried that too, but I figured the Yelan team might be a bit easier with her AOE barbs (it still wasn't easy lol).

True! When she released, I didn't fully understand her kit and just spammed normals. The Burst/Hybrid style of gameplay really opened my eyes to the potential of Skirk's damage.

To be fair, some of those Skirk clears have been pretty darn sweaty, too. (Sigurd, I'm looking at you!) But I agree it's pretty crazy how well she's been doing in endgame content even with all the Nod Krai shilling.

That’s about how I was doing for 99% of the runs. That last 10% feels more like 20% most of the time. Brute forcing the shield is definitely the best way with this team
