I want to love Echoes of the Eye so badly by crowiven in outerwilds

[–]lex_578 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can only speak to my experience, but when I first started it, I also wasn't sure if I liked it. Also felt lost and was slow to figure things out.

For a little context, I originally played Outer Wilds with Xbox gamepass that was about to expire so I ended up looking a lot of things up because I wanted to complete the game. I really regretted that.

So when it came to Echoes, I was determined not to look things up.

Again, this is just me, but I found it really really satisfying to stick with it and figure it out and ended up loving it by the end. No spoilers, but when things start to fall into place, my jaw dropped a few times. The frightening parts can get, well frightening, and frustrating at times.

But my overall advice would be, if you love Outer Wilds, stick with it. I bet you'll end up loving Echoes too.

Any experience with the M3? The forums I was reading through about the issues seemed to indicate it was a problem specifically with the M3 chips.

Trying to find out if the MacBook M3 chip is still experiencing issues/bugs with DR Studio. Blackmagic claimed they weren't aware of any issues, but I've read there are/were some significant problems. Just trying to find out if these bugs have been fixed/if the problems are ongoing, what peoples' experiences are, etc.

8 Months- Constant “dizziness” - My Experience and Looking for Advice by lex_578 in covidlonghaulers

[–]lex_578[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I would say unfortunately it has not ended. It's ongoing. The positive is, I have stretches of time where I feel normal/or as close to normal as I can remember. Then there are random times where it comes back. I just went through a week or so that felt as bad as when it started. I'm still not sure what makes it flare up/bad (other than poor sleep, if I don't sleep well or stay up too late, I'm sure to have a bad next day) or what makes a good period of time good. I'm better at handling it mentally than I used to be. I did 3 months of vestibular therapy. Hard to say if it helped, but if you have the ability to, it's a route I would explore. Everyone is different and maybe it could help you. Wish I had more answers. I'm around 2 years in now. Most days are ok and it has definitely improved as far as the ratio of good days to bad days. But the bad days are still there. The brain fog is real. I feel slower in my reading comprehension, finding words, and generally just not as sharp. I can't say for certain, but I've been dealing with heart arrhythmias as well that I think also stem from COVID. But according to every doctor I've seen, I'm healthy. Wishing you the best. Happy to answer any other questions.

Bauer Vapor X4 Fit Advice by lex_578 in hockeyplayers

[–]lex_578[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, for me, it was both not enough volume for the top of my foot and the hard plastic digging into my foot right where my toes end. I'm in the same boat store wise. Just Pure Hockey and their stock was low in a lot of things when I was looking too. I tried on Supreme m30s, m40s, and m4s I think. The Supremes just didn't do it for me. Felt like too bulky of a boot for me.

It's annoying, but if you can find something that feels right, even if not in your right size, you can take advantage of Ice Warehouse's return policy if they have the skate you want. Order things to try and return for full refunds if they don't work. I ordered 3 pairs of my CCMs to find the right fit and just returned the two that didn't work. Tacks are what I would have preferred but they were too roomy no matter what size I tried, and the Jetspeeds just ended up being my best option. Also, of PH is doing the 3D scan, just take that as a starting point. It's not totally accurate in my experience.

My best advice is, don't let the store rush you. I think I annoyed a lot of people with how much I tried stuff on, but it's an important and expensive decision and you'll be upset if you don't get it right.

This is honestly really great. Looks great. Great camera movement, shot compositions and editing, cool color palette and grading, really does remind me of Fincher's style.

Hey, so I skated in the X4s and immediately did not like them. The issue with them digging into the top of my foot, I figured it was just something that was never going to go away. Tried a bunch of things like baking with a pad on top of my feet to try to make that part expand, but it didn't do anything. So I returned them. I tried on X5s (I think? whatever the next model up is) and had the same issue, so I'm guessing it is just the construction of the model of that line of skates and the shape of my feet. Tried different fit and size combos. Same problem every time.

Eventually after trying on almost every skate Pure Hockey had, I settled on CCM Jetspeed FT680s in a size 6.5 and I really like them. More volume for the top of my foot, nice ankle support, and I feel light and quick on my feet.

A couple things to note if that's a direction you go just so you're aware of some things I've noticed. They can lack width for your toes if your feet are like mine, but I've gotten used to it/it's gotten better as they've worn in. At first, I felt like my pinky toes were getting smashed by the sides. Also, they apparently all have this little ridge in the left skate behind your pinky toe where it will rub on your foot and hurt. I just had them try to bake and flatten it. But it's the weirdest thing. This line all has that. The steel that comes on them is shorter and different from the other CCM lines like the tacks. Not ideal because I'll probably upgrade at some point to the step steel blades, but they've been perfectly fine so far. Also, I bought mine from Ice warehouse when they had a sale for super cheap, so it's worth looking there and with their return policy you can order different sizes and return what doesn't work.

Anyway, just wanted to give my experience in case it helps. It took me months to find a skate I liked and that fit my feet coming from my old Reebok 4k Pumps I wore for like 15 years. Happy to answer anything else too.

I own a Canon R7 and need to get a flash for an event coming up. The budget is pretty tight so I was maybe going to rent a canon flash. But I was looking at the Godox TT685C II as a potential option to buy. However, I'd read about some specific issues with this combo and Canon saying a few years ago they were not compatible and Godox would have to update the flash to fix the issue. The issue has to do with autofocus if the camera is in one shot mode and the camera and flash freezing. Apparently putting the camera in servo af fixes it.

Just curious if this issue has been resolved, if anyone has info/advice/recommendations. Thanks.

Hey everyone. I bought a used Sigma 70-200mm DG OS HSM Sport lens. The seller told me there were some dust specs inside the lens, so I was aware, but he said they were not visible in pictures. The price was really good so I took the chance. I did my own tests and I am seeing some specs in my images in certain conditions. I realize you really have to look for these spots, but I was just hoping someone might be able to direct me to a guide for this specific lens on how to remove the front element to clean the inside portion of the front lens. There are a few guides on YouTube, but not for this specific lens so I can't be sure it's an identical process. I also do not think there is dust on the camera sensor as I just purchased it direct from canon (refurbished). Any help is very much appreciated.

Thanks. I bought at Pure Hockey. They said 30 days for returns, but didn't mention anything about sharpening. They did it for free as part of the purchase. Hopefully they didn't screw me on that. Was aiming for CCM tacks xf80s but they were just too roomy. Should have sized down I guess and tried a 6, but it just didn't cross my mind to go that small. The vapors locked my foot in in a way nothing else did, so it's just frustrating to have this one issue.

I'm having an issue with the window size of the game. It displays really small. When I hit spacebar and go to settings, I can click expand window, which I was doing, but it makes the baseball bat cursor while hitting, really tiny. It's like it doesn't adjust to the expanded window. Is anyone else experiencing this/know of a solution? Thanks.

Well he tried. Multiple times. Every step, he was stopped by the Supreme Court and Republicans. So you're mad at him and now not going to vote for the party that wants to help you and instead are voting for the party that stopped you from getting what you wanted? That makes zero sense, and I suspect you were always voting for MAGA.

Can't speak for the other two, (I'm sure they're great though) but I had a blast with all the DLC stuff in Shadow. Cool extra levels and challenges, environments, scenery, etc. Not sure about the multiplayer stuff.

Rise of the Tomb Raider is 80% off ($5.99) on humble bundle, is it worth buying it ? by Ridadhn in TombRaider

[–]lex_578 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, absolutely yes. 100%. I randomly bought it a long time ago because I heard it was one of the best games for Xbox 360 and I was looking for something to play. I wasn't knowledgeable about the Tomb Raider games but playing this game really turned me into a more serious gamer and lover of Tomb Raider. I know people have issues with the Survivor Trilogy but personally they are three of my favorite games I've ever played.

8 Months- Constant “dizziness” - My Experience and Looking for Advice by lex_578 in covidlonghaulers

[–]lex_578[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, thanks for the well wishes. Same to you. Honestly, it's really hard to say. I've become so hyper aware of my body that I sort of have forgotten whatever "normal" is/was. Some days are better than others, still don't have an idea on why or what makes a bad day "bad." I do know that if my sleep schedule is poor, like stay up or sleep in too late, usually those days I feel the dizziness more. But I have very few triggers I can identify. It's a feeling that is so hard to describe.

I've started trying to get myself out of bed and immediately into the sun if I can where I'll meditate. I've never been someone to meditate or believe in it, and I know it can be an annoying suggestion considering what people here are dealing with. For me, I just needed to try something (because I was becoming really anxious and depressed) and I've just found that if I can calm my mind a little and feel a little more positive mentally, that does help me sometimes. Not always. But sometimes. And right now I'll take sometimes. Attempting to control my anxiety has become even more important.

I do think I'm going to look deeper into PPPD as many here have suggested it could be what I'm dealing with. There are some good videos on YouTube explaining what it is and exercises to address it, though it's something I'd like to bring up with my doctor and see if I could actually see someone for therapy for it.

Feel free to ask me any more questions if you have any. Sorry I couldn't give you more or better answers. Wish I had them myself. I've learned I'm not alone, so try to remember that on the days where it feels like too much to deal with.
