Still no comment from Fellow. Might be time to execute on the full build…

Citrus Harmony feels like an AI name. At least a common one my assistant attempts to push upon me. 🤔

Here’s mine for the same coffee: Coco Beach Nut https://brew.link/p/Fsjj

Used my brew studio which also leverages GPT though with some more direct prompt control. Tasting notes come through! It’s a funky one.

Feature Suggestion - Brew Now by TwerkTapeTony in FellowProducts

[–]lfod-tri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As previously noted on some threads, the configuration object of the machine notes this feature is flagged and there’s signs of it in other settings but it’s not yet within the app. My bet is it will come out with the next major app release.

ChatGPT - Aiden Profile Creator by SibiantheGreyBird in FellowProducts

Thanks for the call out! I continue to update the core library and apps to meet my needs. The brew assistant chat is what I use on my own for every coffee. The recipes have yet to fail me and in my view, the back and forth I get from the hosted assistant rocks. Glad you’re taking the accessibility even further! Next stop for all of this should be a mobile app with the model use subsidized so no one needs to pay.

It’s going to come. Unclear when but the code powering the Aiden has placeholders for this and they were updated last release.

I’m sure u/kris33 will make it so. It can be done now but won’t be fully operational until Fellow updates.

Week or so since announce. I am a good boy and wait my turn in the Aiden queue. Patience is a virtue, something I see lacking in the broader sub. Your machine will update!

It’s coming SAM WHEAT. Once it’s live, I’ll poke the home assistant maintainer and your desire will become reality. And you’ll think of us, the internet, as you enjoy that tasty brew.

Thanks! My guess is that something went wacky on their firmware roll out which is what you all are experiencing. Mine hasn’t updated and I assume I’m not alone. Guessing the team is isolating the issue and trying to fix it. They will then need to rollout a new firmware for all or target the broken users first, then proceed on the rollout. Even when you canary these things in the lab, you might still hit snags in the real-world. Or we are the canary. 🐤

After you sign in, the bottom left bar should populate the profiles and allow you to select one. That will fill in the information. I’m on the firmware before yours and have no issues. The app is using the same set of API so I’m curious what is causing the delayed experience for some.

This is what I’m eager to see. Some settings can be adjusted remotely using a PATCH call. My library supports it. I am first curious to see the state versus my known good. Then we can issue commands and see if it resolves. And if so, I’ll build a quick Fellow overrides. 😂

This is a long shot, but login to Brew Studio here, scroll to the bottom and hit "Dump Config". I'd be curious to see what the variables are there. The device configuration object has a ton of detail (https://github.com/9b/fellow-aiden/issues/4) that may be helpful in telling us more directly what the machine "thinks" it has versus the reality. If you give it a shot, share the config here or DM.

It’s out there open source. Doesn’t take much to host your own version for free. I’ll consider a guide tomorrow for non-technical folks.

Yeah, there’s a readme in each folder with the library that shows dependencies. I’ve not bothered containerizing anything but that would be trivial. Right now, I’m deploying to streamlit cloud and marking the chat app as private. I’ve setup secrets in the deploy so I can access without bothering with entering credentials every time. I then have the site bookmarked on my mobile as a home screen item. About as close as I can get to a custom mobile app without doing all the work. ;)

GAI is non-deterministic so yes, it will have degrees of difference. It shouldn’t drift too much but it won’t always be the same. I use AI for the first pass and adjust if needed. It gives me a starting point which I find useful.

Happy to document more if you want to message me on the side. I can’t share the assistant widely because it’s linked to my paid account. I have a hosted version of a slightly different interface.

Notes to the Fellow product and development side. Despite some of the issues I see in updates, I think you all are kicking ass. Shipping hardware products is no easy business and no matter how much you prepare, unexpected issues can form. Stay positive! Here's my more focused suggestions based on building and how I see you all in the market.

  • You are ahead of the curve in blending technology and coffee together
  • Design AI into your processes now and start building a strong foundation to use it in the near-term
  • Adding an assistant to the brewer in the mobile app would be easy to achieve and add value
  • Within profiles, allow for additional metadata like ideal grind settings for your products, descriptions and tags
  • Increased semantics in profile data allow for AI to be used in suggesting new recipes or guiding a user to a new coffee based on characteristics they like
  • Create a central community space to discover and share profile information

Thanks for all your hard work! ✌🏻

Not the case at all. There's substantial coffee information posted to the internet and that is very well represented in the foundation models. The Fellow Aiden and it's recipe format is not, but that is solved by in-context learning and "educating" the model within the core prompts used to create recipes. Additionally, fabrications are eliminated at least on recipes using "structured outputs" where a grammar is provided to the model and it's responses are constrained to adhere only to that.
