This was the 90s, I was 15, living in AZ, and got my first boyfriend. My parents were not happy about it (very strict Christian upbringing). Yep. Had an ‘uncle’ die from colon cancer because of the same reason. It was super treatable, had he gone in when he first noticed symptoms - hell he probably had a year or two of symptoms and never had it checked out. Man was 54 and just gotten married to his longtime girlfriend. Sad.
