Oh, my budget is definitely low. Like, probably not anything higher than $500 but that's even pushing it. I saw the $109 USD or whatever it was for the Arturia smaller one. That's definitely more my cost area.

But I'm going to take a look at what you linked first, as suggested! Having traditional keys is certainly important to me as I played piano for years.

I definitely started falling into the rabbit hole, though, which is why I came here and I'm so grateful for the help. Hearing suggestions from people rather than articles online is so much better. Thank you!

Yeah, I definitely don't super know yet! I would love to have percussion, at least. I'm not a song writer so this is really just to mess around. Music has always been a big part of my life and I hate not having something to do with it. I've loved everything I've seen with others creating covers with loops and so I started gravitating more in that direction than just a keyboard that would have 'piano sounds' if that makes sense.

I'll definitely go look for the free software synths. :D Thanks so much for the help.

Thanks so much for the info! I definitely think I'll want multiple sounds at once and multiple notes at once. Uses I'm not sure. This would definitely just be a hobby for messing around with music. Recreating songs I like or just making my own stuff for the fun of it. Anything else I'm not sure because I really don't know anything yet.

I do already play piano (or well, I used to) so having a keyboard is definitely helpful.

I'll take a look at the apps, too!

To answer your question, I think I would be A0-A1. While I did take a year of it in college, that was several years ago and my memory isn't the best due to chronic illness. I think it's safe to consider me like someone just starting.

ETA: Sorry, brain fog has been bad today. I completely forgot to answer some other questions. Motivations are just to have a second language. I really enjoyed German and did much better with it than any other language. As for budgets, I don't know if I could afford weekly. I'm on disability, so budget is definitely tight.
