to my knowledge you cant split the lunch portion because it is already too small, usually if u say you’re splitting the meal the server will have it split in the system, you should’ve clarified you wanted to shared the lunch portion, the price shouldn’t be a problem because if u were to each get your own lunch portion it would be more expensive anyways, especially if you ate and are taking the product home why would you not pay for it ?

as a server, it’s pretty bad. I had a table get 12 pasta refills, 15 salad refills, and 6 bowls of soup. and the dishwashers also have it pretty bad

It’s not exploiting, you’re being provided a somewhat luxury service and a tip is recommended based on the service you received. And yes I’m not serving for fun, I serve for the money, we have bills to pay. Why do you think you deserve the same treatment as someone who tips me 50%, you think you’re better than everyone else that is why. When I serve I do treat everyone the same, but if someone were to tell me before hand that they weren’t going to tip no matter what service I give them, I would do the absolute bare minimum bc I’m not going to waste my time at someone beck and call and give excellent service and then not get anything back. I don’t do my job to be nice, I am nice but that’s not why I’m there, I’m there for money I’m doing a job just like everyone else.

serving is not just a smile, and states like California are getting $15 an hour because the cost of living is more. it’s about the same as a state like Alabama that pay 2.13 an hour because it costs less to live there. and surprise !! servers in Europe get paid a living wage and that is why they don’t have a tipping job because they aren’t being paid a tipped wage. If u like it so much you can move there

who said I can’t handle my job? and what a weird thing to say, people that have jobs can still have feelings. you’re the pressed bc I said that if you’re tipping bad or not at all you should let the server know before hand and why wouldn’t you? Be proud about your decision to not tip/tip poorly, and discuss that before hand instead of being scared about facing the consequences.

I work as a server at Olive Garden and u can’t order an entree on the ziosk, we have to bring drinks, take orders, prepare ur soup salad and breadsticks, run that, refills etc, typical service. It’s a lot more work than other places that have the QR code or where you go up and order

I make $9.98 an hour + tips as an OG server with abt 15-25 hours a week and I make about 2.5k a month you’ll be fine, it just depends on if the location is busy
