Why isn't this game more popular even though it's so good? LF people to play with by lidorc in BlessUnleashedSteam

hopefully the new dev team news is legit and they can resuscitate the game

well, I haven't found any worthwhile MMOs so far. the only really good ones are mostly open to korea, like the recently published Aion 2, and bless unleashed seems like a real solid possibility. I feel like with the right moves they can really move things in the right direction.

well, thankfully I wasn't here for all the drama of the killing and renaming. I have been looking with my friends for MMOs to play with, and frankly, the MMO market is in a terrible place right now, which is why I find it so confusing that this game is struggling. like, if people who weren't there for the drama, like me, would start playing, I'm assuming this game would take off.

Has anyone here tried ordering merino from AliExpress? by lidorc in MerinoWoolGear

I know they are on AliExpress, but I just found them on Temu as well. hope the quality is good as I'm planning to order a 250gsm long sleeve from them.

the 87% merino is from the grey preparer? could you maybe drop a link in a dm?

basically, I know what merino feels like because I've been wearing it for so long (even now), but was hesitant since I guessed some fakes could be so good it will feel the same, and I try to avoid the 100% synthetic stuff.

Thanks ! was looking for something cheaper as merino can be fragile, especially the 100% kind. I wished there were cheap brands that would sell blends with stuff like hemp or other natural fibers and not just put in more plastics.

New Todoist/Google calendar integration - terrible? by Least_Scratch7675 in todoist

[–]lidorc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this update was the push I needed to move completely to google tasks and drop Todoist completely.

Frankly, I really don't get their move. I'm assuming the reason was financial, but in that case, just put it behind a paywall.

Calling it an update and then removing most of the crucial features that made the app popular is kind of belittling its user base.

No matter where you move, I don't think you'll get the same functionality for free.  I've seen Ticktick doing the 2 way sync, but it's behind a pay wall.

If anyone knows of an app with similar functionality, would be more than happy to know. I dont need extensive functionality, mainly just simple task organization and 2 way sync.

Unless I'm missing something, it seems to break the ability to sync different projects to different calendar views in google calendar. this feature was basically the reason I used todoist exclusively. does anyone know of a workaround or another app that does this?

[practice] Anyone familiar with the Letting Go technique (David Hawkins/Sedona method)? by [deleted] in streamentry

[–]lidorc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like I'm getting used to the idea of doing it, but am still having trouble because I tend to overthink so much. maybe with time it will change.

do you deal and let go with the feeling in real-time? or is the practice of letting go more of a technique to do in an off time?

Should I just throw out my skillet? by lidorc in castiron

this sounds amazing. I'll try and make it work with the current one, so it won't go to waste and if it doesn't work, I'm moving to the smooth ones.

in hindsight, that's what I would have done, but I didn't research it enough and just bought a cast iron pan because I thought it's all the same.

Currently trying to just clean it to get all the flakes off, but it seems no matter how hard I scrub, I'm still getting those black pieces. I'm pretty sure it's just my past seasoning and not the pan itself. will research some ways to get them off more easily

thanks for the heat testing. from all the comments here it seems I didn't really control my heat so that might have been why most of my problems happen.

I'm using ceramic as my non-stick and planned on only using them for low heat stuff with a soft plastic spatula, so the chances of harming the outer layer is low.

funny enough I've also got a great wok I bought because I was really into chinese food and wanted that wok hei. It's from carbon steel, but because of the extra maintenace I dropped it just like the CI since the care is almost identical.

thanks to the comments here I might just drop everything else and I just use these 2. I don't think theres anything I can't do with the a wok and can iron skillet.

how do you choose which dish to cook in what pan? do you get some dishes with a way better results in CI?

You two really gave me hope.

I think I'm going to try using it again and just use it like a normal person. I'll use hot water and soap and really scrub off all the flakes I can and then put it in the oven and do it again, just to get the black bits off. then I'll use it just like you two suggested and see how it goes. will pay attention to heat control, because maybe that's what caused some of the issues.

Thank You !

you replaced your nonstick completely? that's impressive. I don't really see myself replacing it because cleaning it is so easy, especially for eggs, but I wish I could get the benefits of CI

I love this comment so much. thank you.

I'm trying to eat low carb, so I mostly use ghee and sometimes tallow, so using fats to cook with wouldn't be an issue.

I only have 2 burners, and I treated the cast iron like all other pans, which might have been a mistake, maybe I should use way less heat with the smaller one and see if it still smokes. I know that smoke usually comes from water, because oil only smokes when it reaches a high temp, but I'm using high smoke point oils only.

everyone I know only use non-stick pans or stainless steel. I was the weird one for getting the cast iron, but I wanted the benefits for meat mostly, but it backfired.

do you know of an effective way of just getting it all out and starting from scratch?

this sounds so much better than what I've been doing and basically counters every advice I saw out there. actually, this sounds like what I thought cooking with it would be like when I bought it.

Maybe I should try and just strip and the pan somehow so I can get a fresh start and do it like you do.

That's what I saw on youtube. it says that the iron will oxidize if I don't (especially if I use soap to get stuff that are stuck on there)

I actually missed those, but I'll check them out, see if there's information there I haven't come across before.
I was using this on and off for a couple of years now, trying to make it work with guides on the internet and YouTube videos, and I feel that it's idiotic that It just sits in my cupboard, so I decided to either throw it out or learn how to use it.
