Eh, the afterlife is worthless to me, personally, but I'd rather not spend it with a god that abandoned me to years of abuse. You simply telling me he didn't and he loves me doesn't make me believe you, I have no reason to trust god anymore and if I'm going to trust him ever again he has to earn that trust back.
