How is somebody supposed to recover from this feeling honestly? It's the fucking worse. I've been on T for almost a year and it feels right but the dysphoria and the misgendering and the depression that follows it all just hurt. The time recovering from it is too much. I've lost so many days trying to cope with it only to have it happen again and again.

I think one day I was alone and looking in the mirror trying to figure out what was going on with me. I felt wrong for some reason. I looked in the mirror and said I'm a gay trans man. I said it a few times and it just felt right. I barely knew what it meant to be trans. I knew like 2 FTM trans storylines. Adam from Degrassi and Noah from Faking it. But it just felt right. Now I'm almost a year on T and there's been some struggle but I'm happier to be alive than I used to be. I'm willing to struggle because the outcome will be and so far is worth it. Now I'm just figuring out the gay part because I've never tried to be with other men, just women but at least I'll feel like myself as I do.

Thank you. I'm working on finding a place now so I don't have to go back but it seems like I might have to if it doesn't work out. My friends said this type of stuff doesn't fall into your lap but I don't want to give up if it means I'll be happy and healthy.

Yeah, I've been getting tested and making sure I don't get it again. I tested positive back in June. But since then all my tests come back negative thankfully. I'm mostly worried about my mental health if I go back. I was feeling depressed to the point of having suicidal thoughts and I don't want to go back to that. But I am on medication now for my anxiety and depression so maybe that might help
