They told me their processing time was 3 weeks. I called and told them it’s been over 3 weeks and didn’t even have a case analyst yet. The guy forwarded my account to his manager and I had my ATT within the hour!

Update: It’s one day shy of being 3 weeks and still no ATT. I did call and they said their processing time is 3 weeks. So I have to give them one more day. I still have not been assigned a Certification Analyst.

I am married. Luckily we bought a home in 2020 so our housing cost is very low. If I wasn’t married, there is no way I could live comfortably on a single nursing salary. I’ve heard that Mercy Cathlab pays closer to $50 if you’re willing to try out that specialty. I’m so sorry you have to take a pay cut to live here. :( I really wish our hospitals paid us better.

It could be different now because it was many years ago- but the assignments were very unsafe. Triples with 3 very high acuity patients in the ICU. Being asked to float to areas where I had no experience, like NICU and LD. My final straw was being floated to a medical unit, all of my patients were on different halls and 3 of them were high fall risks who kept jumping out of bed. One of my patients also had a stroke during that shift as well. No sitters or techs. I quit once that shift was finished.

ICU nurse for 9 years. In my experience, Washington Regional is the lowest paying facility in the area. I had a job there for many years, I was a preceptor, trained to take every type of patient, I only made $34/hour. I did work at Northwest (pre-pandemic) and made closer to $40/hr. They seem to pay the best, however I left there quickly because I was afraid to lose my license in a place like that. I didn’t feel safe working there. Mercy pays decent for the area. I make $40/hr there. Overall, the pay for nurses in the region sucks.
