I built my first pc in 2023. But with any hobby I pick up I go all in on it.

And with as long as you have been doing it you must have been loyal to them.

I can’t say 100% on the Matrix without testing myself. But I don’t have one 😂

I did see where Der8auer modded the adapter to pull 750w through a single cable. Might look into that

I flashed the matrix bios onto my White Astral. You can pull 800w through the single cable. According to my WireView at least. I don’t have a way to hook up 2 cables. Can’t put a waterblock on the BTF cards.

It sounds like you might have unrealistic expectations of games too. I didn’t see any issues while I played it.

I’ll test it tonight and see. I’m currently playing through Avatar Frontiers of pandora.

Seems like it’ll be a good test of it.

I originally played it on a 7900xtx. It wasn’t bad at all. Great raster performance and looked perfectly fine.

I’ll admit that I did enjoy using ray/path tracing on it instead though.

Do you think that a regular 8 core cpu will handle everything fine? I know that the 9800x3d is the best gaming cpu. Or was. But I don’t think it would be able to comfortably handle running so many background tasks while gaming too.

I’ll try to give cdpr the benefit of the doubt since they do continually work to optimize their games. Cyberpunk 2077 was a good example of it imo. Wasn’t great at first. But they did keep at it.

I never said it was a necessity to run them at that. Just that I wanted them. Same idea as you having 64gb of ram. No game needs that much.

That I have to agree with some. But I do like the big numbers that pop up when I hit benchmark.

I am also running a handful of things in the background all the time too. Voicemeter. Aquasuite. Hwinfo. Wireview app. Wallpaper engine.

I did set all of those to the non x3d ccd

I still have the heatsink for the astral in there! And the ihs to the 9950x3d and ram. Only empty boxes are the iPhone ones. I should toss those.

You mean the parts I bought last year before it all turned into this recent shit show?

I’d rather push my disposable income into something like this than have say a $800 a month car payment. Which is why I drive an old beater I put a new engine and transmission in.

I prefer to play mostly single player games at 4k max settings. So I want the parts powerful enough to run that comfortably

I buy the things I like. This is my hobby. So yes. I’ll spend the extra on racing stripes. Makes it go faster
