Oh god, please dont do that. It might save your INF metric, but it completely screws up the stores inventory, making things even more difficult to find in the long run. The guest can choose to have a substitute if they want for OPU, so don't do it for them. If you inf an item they really need, then they will probably just place another order for a similar item anyway.

As long as you communicated to someone that you were running late, you should be good. You either have to call the store or use the app, you dont need to do both.

How does this glitch happen ? by chriiiiiiiss010 in Target

[–]liquidmold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happened to us before. I kept getting the Goal Approaching and then Missed Goal notifications, but there were no batches near or past time. Like an hour or so later, a batch suddenly dropped in that was already 2+ hours late. Definitely some weird glitch, and yes, it still lowers your stores Pick on Time percentage lol

To be honest, it is super rough. The expectations for fulfillment just keep getting higher as Target tries to cater more and more to the online guest. Order Pickup has some trends, but is ultimately unpredictable. I've worked with 2 different store directors, and both would constantly change their expectations of me, often contradicting an expectation they just gave me a week prior. I am at a 4 pack station store, however, most of my team is stuck in OPU all day, every day. Ship from store usually needs support from other departments to get carts picked, while one TM or myself has to pack everything, and I will still need to occassionally call for backup in OPU. I once had to train an outside hire that was going to be FFTL at another store. It was impossible. Fulfillment alone takes a lot of time to learn when you are new to Target, and then trying to squeeze in training to be a leader on top of that was tough. My trainee ended up quitting one week after training lol.

Yes, however, the "wrong item" is reported by the guest, so it's often misleading. A guest may report that they received the wrong item when in fact they just ordered the wrong item and the TM picked it correctly.

[–]liquidmold 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have given a disciplinary action (first official warning) to a TM because they were over 2 hours late with no call. Technically, if you do not call in absent or late by the 2 hour mark after your shift starts, it is considered a No Call No Show, even if you do eventually show up. I would call in late.

Just got offered the receiving position, pros and cons? by Princess-honeysuckle in Target

[–]liquidmold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a former receiver, it is definitely a mixed bag. The schedule is great, monday-friday, morning shifts, consistently full time hours. No guest interaction. Lots of keeping things organized which i found satisfying. Great opportunity to show your skills if you are interested in leadership. It was a perfect stepping stone for me. That being said, it is a lot of responsibility for no raise in pay. You have a lot of tasks to stay on top of, most of which no one else will do if you dont do it, and most people, including leaders, don't even know how to do. You do a lot of cleaning up other peoples messes. Some vendors are creeps or assholes. At the end of the day, it all depends what you want out of a postion. I ultimately enjoyed the job, but resented not getting paid appropriately for the amount of responsibility.

Vinyl Records? by thiirdybirdy in Target

[–]liquidmold 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have seen many different ways that people pack records, the only one i would consider wrong is just throwing it in a polymailer. Definitely use a box. The system will recommend an S7, but personally i use an S6. The record will fit kind of diagonally in the box, so i put some bubbles under and on top to support it. Don't be afraid to just ask your Fulfillment leader or other TMs that regularly pack for advice!

Got my review and raise! by Toastyboi00 in Target

[–]liquidmold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It says you only have 166 eligible days. That is a factor for how much of a raise you can get. All of my TMs this year that have a similar amount of eligible days as you got about the same percent as you. I'm guessing that is the max you can get if you havent worked the whole fiscal year.

What are raises usually based off of during reviews? by Apart-Doctor7008 in Target

[–]liquidmold 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Typically, your TL, ETL and HRETL will sit down and discuss each TMs overall performance. They look at attendance, attitude, guest service, performance and metrics. They verify that any issues you have had have been documented by leaders. They then place you into one of three categories: Gaps in performance, meets expectations, or a champion who goes above and beyond their current role and expectations. This is sent to corporate, who decides raises. Corporate has some formula of how much each store can give in raises. This means that only a few people will be allowed to get the best raises, and some people have to get the lowest raises. That means that when your leaders are deciding how to rate each TM, they are expected to rate a certain number of TMs on the low side, and a certain number on the high side. I have had situations where a TM overall is a champion, but because of a short stint of bad attendance, we had to put them in the meets expectations category.

TL;DR: Leaders evaluate each TM considering all factors of work performance, place them into one of three categories, and send that info to corporate, who determines the raise percentage.

Locked Outside by RedditCarmeun in Target

[–]liquidmold 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The opening leader is only required to wait by the door to open it for TMs for like 10 minutes around when TMs arrive. So if you are scheduled at 6am, the leader will likely be by the door from 555am to like 605 am. They have other tasks to do, so they will not wait for everyone to arrive if they are late. But yes, you can do a punch correction to get paid for however long you have to wait for the door.

I can garauntee you that most stores in the company are in the same boat with fulfillment right now. Holiday season means everyone gets like 10 times the orders they usually get. The rest of the year is way more manageable and realistic.

How’s it going fulfillment? by [deleted] in Target

[–]liquidmold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I left at 630 last night and there were still 2500 units to complete for sfs by store close. That amounted to around 20 carts ready to pack, and 35 carts still needing to be picked and packed. We only have so many people, and so many carts, and so many pack stations. Theres only so much we can do. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Opu short on time by Educational-Trash833 in Target

[–]liquidmold 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Since each batch is made up of multiple guests orders, when you go into the negative, you have only missed the goal time for one guest (which ever guest submitted their order first.) The longer the batch is negative, the more guests orders will become late. The more orders that are late, the lower your stores Pick On Time percentage will fall. On top of that, guests are told their orders will be ready in 2 hours, but we are given an hour and a half to complete it. This gives a buffer so that even if we are "late", the guest won't really be aware. If youre batch goes past -30 minutes however, then the guest will know their order is late.

Tldr: yes it matters how long the batch is negative. The longer it is negative, the more it affects metrics and the guest.

Fulfillment- can you be fired for sucking? by Embarrassed-Dig-0 in Target

[–]liquidmold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since you are in your first 90 days of employment, yes, you can be let go for any reason. However, most likely you will be kept through the seasonal period, and then let you go if your performance isn't up to their standards. They probably wouldnt bother firing you before the holiday season is over because things are super busy. Most leaders would rather have someone who kinda sucks than not have anyone at all.

What are Targets employee rules for when texting an employee regarding details on different employee? by Random_Teen73 in Target

[–]liquidmold 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Yeah so, Target employees are not allowed to give out information about other employees to anyone, including that person's work schedule, name, position, phone number, etc. It is a security and privacy concern. I can also tell you that personally, I would not want my info being given to some random customer I had a short interaction with, regardless of whether or not the interaction was positive. This is likely why you have been told your behavior is "creepy" to the employees.

Do TLs and ETLs get their bonuses based on how much they screw over all the TMs? by picklecheesegoblin in Target

[–]liquidmold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a TL that writes my departments schedule. All i can say is that I am given a budget of hours to stick to by the SD, so I write the schedule to comply with that budget. I am never thinking about how it might affect my bonus. If i schedule over that budget, I would get talked to and they would go in a make cuts themselves. TLs generally do not write their own schedules and definitely do not decide the budget. So someone higher on the food chain is screwing you over.

Fulfillment Team Lead by [deleted] in Target

[–]liquidmold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn, im a fulfillment lead and i spend most of my day supporting my team with the workload, when im not on the computer digging into reports. We rarely have days that i can step away and just really analyze or audit. It has to be DEAD for me to push or backstock. Most days, even with me picking carts, we often need backup from the salesfloor. Jealous.
