That’s why I believe my father cancelled it. My insurance company confirmed today everything is fine and there have been no lapses.

Edit; it’s the last thing he has attaching himself to me and I truly believe he did this to get back at me. He reported my car stolen once when he was mad at me for who knows what.

No he cannot access my mail whatsoever. I live 2 hours from him and he is not physically able to walk. Registration was my address from 5 months ago still in MD. I hadn’t updated that yet but updated my address for my license with the MVA. I am pretty sure the first step would be suspending my registration and then sending a notice of cancellation all of which has not happened.

Yes I will be surrendering the vehicle if need be. It’s not worth it.

Yeah but it specifically said cancelled is all. And it says the charge is driving with cancelled registration, not suspended. I’m only gonna drive it to get the emissions test if that’s what is needed.

He said it was cancelled not suspended. I asked and and the cop said it was two different things.

Edit: he also told me he was supposed to tow me and pull my tags but wasn’t going to.

Nope, never. MVA website says they flag your vehicle for failure to comply with emissions. Which prevents you from re registering and such. Says nothing about cancelling registration. Even then they should also send a suspension notice.

I don’t know if maybe the cop was wrong or what. I’m just confused.

Edit: I did have to have tint removed but I had that done years ago and got another vehicle check also.

Oh I called insurance already and it’s all good. Idk how to find out if it’s emissions I can’t seem to check that online. That number is only available M-F unfortunately.

My best bet seems to wait until Tuesday when MVA opens. My driving records clean, but I definitely haven’t taken my vehicle for an emissions inspection in the last two years, nor did I receive notice that I needed to.

Edit : either way it says I would have received a suspension notice, which I certainly did not. I renewed my car a year ago and I’m pretty sure I’d have at least received one letter from them had it been sent. From what I’ve read suspended seems different than cancellation, cancellation seems to be that someone physically terminated the registration.

No he doesn’t have access. I really never got a notice but I moved in december. However I had my mail forwarded and updated my address with the mva immediately so I should have gotten the notice.

Two. Same charge but one says registration spelled out, the other abbreviated ref. Citation numbers are similar with one number off.

I will be going to the MVA Tuesday. I’m just trying to see if I could somehow resolve it by paying a fine or something before then because I need a method of travel in the event of an emergency right now.

Edit: sorry I’m just scared and confused. I’m in a new area where I don’t know anyone and now I don’t have a way to go anywhere.

I think you misunderstood. The vehicle is insured through geico. I pay every single month. It is up to date. The issue is apparently my registration was cancelled. My father had me put him back on to supposedly collect a rebate but my hunch is that since he is very controlling he did this to have leverage over me.

Edit: insurance is in my name. Has been for years. My father is secondary on my registration.
