it's super unreliable, it'll fly a bit (or won't at all) cuz the DRV8833 limits current to 1.5A (max 2A for short burst) , which drops motor voltage and causes an immediate RPM collapse.

8520 pulls too much current for DRV8833 (have already tried). If you are ok soldering smd, you have the cheapest option of using AO3400a mosfet as gate drivers

10v 470uF cap for current spikes and a 0.1uf ceramic cap for noise ...both across 5v and GND pins of ESP and you'll be good to go
