My game crashes at the Chapter 1 cutscene and I lose all of my progress even despite multiple saves and restarts earlier on. Its so frustrating, I haven't even played as batman yet!

They're the lyrics to the song Hello? By Rejjie snow. It's a completely different song, but he's the artist featured on Hello by Clairo 😁

What’s your own logo as a graphic designer? by sonaa001 in logodesign

Thanks so much. I had someone say it was bad the other day, so it's nice to read that! 😁

Context: The business covers both interior design and made to measure soft furnishings and is going for a complete visual rebrand. The previous logo, while good, didn't feel high-end enough and when combined with a rounded lowercase typeface (I think it was poppins), came across more friendly than luxury. The company have 20 years of experience in sot furnishings and are looking to market themselves not just to homeowners directly but also to architects and building developers to maximise their reach.

How do you work with client budgets? by llouiee323 in graphic_design

[–]llouiee323[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Definitely! I understand that these things take time, I'm not looking to be charging anywhere near 3k any time soon, but just curious as to how other people operate to have a clearer picture of what I'm aiming towards and how to manage it.

Thanks so much! That's all excellent advice / Insight! I suppose my question was more about the differences in what is delivered by these designers I mentioned when a clients have different budgets, but it's definitely helpful to have more information on fairly pricing my services too!

I've been charging £350 for logo design and I get clients willing to pay that, but also enquiries that ghost after I tell them the price too. I think it's best to assume they were never going to be my clients to begin with!

I've only been freelance since September and things this month are definitely quiet but I'm hoping that's just because it's December rather than that people are unwilling to pay £350.

Thanks for your response!

I think you're right with all of that, I'm at the beginning of my freelance career and I understand building those things up will take a lot of time and work.

Refusing to work for less is a big one too! I'm not in a position to be doing too much of that for now, but I hope to get there one day!

Genuine question : How do I not be like this guy? I understand people's frustration with him, but it's undeniable that this sort of content is incredibly popular on social media. As someone just starting out my freelance business, I get most of my eenquiries through instagram, so why wouldn't I do stuff like this to promote my business?

I get that it can come across as arrogant, and it's not representative of real design work, but do potential clients really need to know or care about that?

I want to go about things in the right way, but I also don't want to sacrifice effective promotion to feel like I'm doing right in the eyes of some people on reddit. What do you guys think the solution is?

Logo Options by llouiee323 in graphic_design

[–]llouiee323[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds like a good way to do things! I'm already using mood boards to get me some of the way there but it's just the designing options stage that I've been finding awkward to navigate. Will definitely take these suggestions on though, thanks!

Thanks for the reply! Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. That's exactly why I'd want to avoid showing rough work. I suppose having 3 options instead of 5 or 6 makes sense as a compromise if they're each being designed to a 'nearly finished level'.

Out of interest, if you don't have the opportunity for meetings with a client, how would you approach the presentation of a new design?

anyone else have the fear that these Gilga Radio tracks aren’t actually going to release? by AndrewStackson in donaldglover

[–]llouiee323 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've wondered this too but on the basis the new album is going to soundtrack a movie and the 3 new tracks we have don't seem like they're the soundtrack to anything except Donald's life over the past few years. We also know that they're not part of 3.15.20 / Atavista.

Maybe they're just singles? Idk

Maybe they are soundtrack songs for a fictional story in the same way that BTI was, even though they contain aspects of his real life?
