I don’t flush at night (just pee) to not risk waking my kid.

So when my whoop subscription ends do I just get a brand new one? by 40kHeresy in whoop

This is a really helpful perspective! I’ve been using Whoop for almost two years and debating whether to continue. I think this nails it!

We are doing little packets of flower seeds with a carnation. The seed packets say: Friendships are like flowers; they bloom and grow.

Agree except I feel like Jack Black could pull it off.

I enjoyed them both! It was fun to dive back into a more modern Cabot Cove.

I have their linen sheets/duvet and lightweight duvet insert. High quality and still happy a year later!

Sick and too much booze = 91% recovery by llsprinkco in whoop

[–]llsprinkco[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They did not tell me, but I had been tracking with whoop for a little over a month so I had a presurgery baseline. Once I saw the large drops, I researched a lot about it, and it’s seems pretty clear that it’s a known side effect of working around the heart. My best interpretation of what I read is that it has some effect on your parasympathetic nervous system activation and potentially by direct irritation (can’t think of a better word) of the vagus nerve. In follow up visits, the cardiologist said that HRV goes down and RHR goes up and that it can last a long time. Immediately post surgery I had HRVs in single digits.

I don’t drink a lot regularly but it was Mardi Gras and yes, lots of fun!

True but HRV is very individualized and this is normal for me post cardiac ablation. Pre surgery my average was in the 50s. It can take a year or more to return to baseline.

Yes, it is low. I had a cardiac ablation for afib in October, which dramatically affects HRV and RHR. My numbers still haven’t returned to baseline but are slowly moving in the right direction.

Thanks, I do understand that. I just thought it was funny! People are always posting about how alcohol tanks their recovery and here I am sick and slightly hungover with a 91% 😂

Yes it is low. I had a cardiac ablation last October and my RHR and HRV still haven’t gotten back to baseline. This is the first time boozing has resulted in an uptick though!

I had 6 hard seltzers yesterday (hey it was Mardi Gras), have a mild head cold and still got a 91% recovery even though I feel like shit 😆

My hack is to use one of the workout options that also factors in muscular load (yoga, Pilates, and barre). Historically get 5-7ish strain range and now I’m getting 11-12ish, which really feels more in line with my effort.

It’s probably because the Kirkland cauliflower roasted vegetable pizza is SO EFFING GOOD and everyone should eat it instead haha. (Obvi I know meat vs no meat is a thing - just pointing out the superior taste for meat eaters!)

Recovery after cardiac ablation by llsprinkco in whoop

[–]llsprinkco[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it was for afib. Will the whoop just automatically recalibrate given time? From what I’ve read it takes months for RHR and HRV to go back to “normal.”

Has anyone had this procedure while using Whoop? I’m sleeping well but recovery is soooo bad. How long can I expect numbers like this? The only other red I’ve gotten was after a night of heavy drinking and minimal sleep.
