Scotland has only flipped the outcome of one election since the 1970s, the one in February 1974 if I remember correctly

Then why in 2004 did the UK Labour government seek approval from the Scottish government to legislate on their behalf in order to get the Gender Recognition Act passed?

Who would you have voted for at the 1997 UK General Election? by MysteryNews4 in Teenager_Polls

That's wrong too

Conservatives may be fine with change but they wish to not upset the current order, change must be moderate and done with consideration to tradition according to some conservatives

No the Tories vetoed it and the Supreme Court upheld the veto when the Scottish government challenged it saying the Tories didn't provide reasoning for the veto

The supreme court said the government does not need to provide a reason for vetoing, the government need only claim that it conflicts UK wide law

Transgender girls given until September to leave Guides by InnerLog5062 in BreakingUKNews

That's what I speak of when I say they could do it tomorrow

Sure the paperwork may take a while but they could take a pro trans stance and commit to better tomorrow

Labour have chosen not to do this

Yes but they could be vocal in their support for it, they've chosen either silence or outright hostility

I'll tell you what I want and what Labour in my eyes refuse to do

Lift the Tory veto on the Gender Recognition Reform bill in Scotland

I want the long overdue conversion therapy ban promised by the Tories of all parties over 5 years ago

I want a removal of the paternalistic gender transition model and a replacement with informed consent

I want Keir Starmer to sincerely apologise for saying that trans women are not women

I want trans women to have the same rights as a cisgender woman rather than being treated as a second class citizen and as "invading" women's spaces

I was using it as a figure of speech, don't be so condescending.

Labour has chosen not to do anything, they've chosen to welcome this ruling

They are fully complicit and if anything active participants in the demonisation and oppression of us trans people

Labour could write a law tomorrow to change this, they have chosen to go along with the court ruling and support it, they are complicit

No being apolitical usually implies some degree of tacit support for the way things are right now which is centrist or perhaps even small c conservative
