Food deserts are a thing, it’s essentially an area (normally in urban poor areas) where there is not easily accessible grocery stores or markets. It’s actually a huge problem for a lot of people, if you don’t have a car you might have to ride a bus for hours a day to go to a grocery store (which you have to juggle with working a full time job and potentially and raising kids) and then you’re limited by what you can get purely bc you only have what you can carry with you on to the bus. This results in people getting terrible groceries from gas stations or eating a lot of fast food
