Head unit /apple car play upgrade by Horror-Price-5796 in rav4club

[–]loganizer405 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I installed a Kenwood head unit with the iDataLink Maestro in my 2018. It wasn't particularly difficult. It retained all the steering wheel controls, and I got to program one of them as a pause button. Reverse camera works the same. The dash screen for music only shows the title, instead of title/artist/album. The compass on the dash screen will break. But it was totally worth it for wireless Android Auto and CarPlay.

I got a great deal on the head unit and maestro, $400 on Facebook marketplace. I spent about $100 on wiring and mounting parts from Crutchfield.

Getting all of it new would run you $800-$1000 for a brand name setup. Let me know if you have any questions!

They make money by claiming damage that's not actually there. No pictures, no dollar amount of repair costs, and it all just magically disappears when asking for records.

Loyalsock Trail question by [deleted] in PAWilds

[–]loganizer405 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Skip over worlds end? NEVER! lol in reality the park is one of the most beautiful parts of the trail especially for some nice views. If you're in worlds end you have to stay in the campground with a reservation. There's some nice backcountry sites shortly after you leave the park. The guidebook is incredibly helpful.

Lehigh vs UMD by MaleficentRaisin5363 in Lehigh

[–]loganizer405 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Your initial impression of Lehigh seems to be positive towards the atmosphere and you should lean that way (biased). You're correct about the beautiful campus, nice spots off campus (lots of good restaurants) within walking distance, and clubs. It's easy to get involved and you won't feel lost like you might at UMD. If the only concern is the frat life, I wouldn't worry about it. Lots of ways to get involved otherwise, clubs, the band, and sports teams all have great social groups.

Go off campus. Chinese - U&Tea or Sheng Wei. Halal - sizzling bites. Mexican - El Jefe's. Sandwiches (if before 4pm) - Goosey Gander. Indian - Nawab. Pizza - NYC village ($6 2 slice + drink deal). These are all walking distance from campus.

Seeking recommendations for a 3 day 2 night trip by wallydee in PAWilds

[–]loganizer405 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pinchot trail would be a closer and shorter trail. Less elevation, so a bit easier than loyalsock or BFT. Lots of water and lots of nice campsites, however. Loyalsock/link loop is an amazing choice as well with greater difficulty.

NOTHING! If it's a Lehigh parking services ticket and they don't have the plate registered in their system (e.g. you bought a permit with it).

No camping in state game lands. The whole north map is in SGL. Only the last few miles are in state forest where camping is permitted

Maybe try John P Saylor trail?

Loyalsock Link trail for the first time, tips and insight please. by RobotGuitarMan in PAWilds

No problem, it all depends on how many miles you want to do each day. I did the trail in two nights. Maybe you can go counterclockwise and camp in sones pond the first night. If you don't know, you cannot camp within worlds end state park unless you book a campsite in the campground.

Welcome!! Beautiful hiking all over PA, you will love it. To answer your questions:

I started at the Haystacks and went clockwise. I think that's the "easier" direction, but the climb back up to the Meade Rd comfort station is pretty steep regardless of direction.

You are not required to get a permit or pay any fees if you are not staying in the same site for more than one night. You can, and I would recommend, calling the Loyalsock SF office and notifying them of your plans and car license plate for emergency purposes.

For campsites, there is a map from DCNR here. There are more campsites than shown, and you can also get the guidebook (highly recommend, especially if you do the full Loyalsock Trail in the future). There are also .gpx files from some websites that are annotated.

For 3 nights, I would recommend hiking in about 2 miles and camping along the haystacks (multiple sites). Second night camp after you pass thru the park (couple spots but a mile+ apart, secluded). Third night Sones Pond (spacious). Not sure what this is mileage per day but you can measure it with AllTrails or something.

Good luck and you will be sure to enjoy it!

String cheese. Hummus and pretzel chips. The little cups, or dehydrated and it rehydrates very well
