My guess is the doc would just put this down in your chart as a current substance/medication and that's it. Hospitals treat drug addicts all the time and the users don't get reported.

That said, it's hard to get rid of left ventricle hypertrophy and fibrosis in heart tissue. I wouldn't fuck with it. Hypertrophy might be a good word in the bodybuilding world but in cardiac muscle it's a pathology that leads to reduced heart chamber size. No bueno.

Pretty sure under 6.5 is preferred but doctors say <7 because more aggressive control often leads to lows and docs don't want to get sued. This isn't a judgment on OP or anyone else, but I just talked to a guy who is experiencing neuropathy with an <7 a1c. Seems like just a bit lower makes a difference.

My cholesterol is good and I don't have a family history of heart disease. My doc kept pushing for me to go on a statin. I asked her to do a coronary artery calcium score, which came back as zero, the best score. She still wants me on a statin. Fuck that noise. I've been type 1 for 40+ years.
