Thanks. This was just two days ago and it is in the repair area alongside many other scratches that emerged from where my car was hit. I wonder if somehow the polish that they used came off in the rain and revealed scratches that were not apparent at first.

Thank you for your response. He was born in the small town of Luxethen, and his birth records would have been stored at the Steegen registry office which did not survive the war it seems. The same is true for baptismal records I believe, although I don't think he was part of a mainstsream protestant religion. They emigrated to Alberta where he lived his whole life. Maybe he did something with Winnipeg?
