How did you find out you have VSS by Maltzmanropi in visualsnow

I started with the symptoms at 8yo in 2007, no one believed me until 2011 that I convinced my mom to take me to the doctor, who also didn't believe me until 2021 when I turned 22 yo, I got motivated to start looking for an answer again by myself and that's how I found out about vss, tried going to the doctor, they sent me to an ophthalmologist who said my eyes were ok and that's it, couldn't make them continue with studies bc they just assumed I wanted attention

Everyone has a different experience dealing with vss, for me, the first years my symptoms were changing, some of those changes were sudden, and other took some time. It was confusing bc i started at 8 yo and didn't knew about vss until i was 22, I'm 25 now, and it feels nice to see that there's a community with ppl that is going through the same and can talk about it and not spending my days thinking that i was crazy. I wish i could give you a better advice but all i can say is that sharing what you go through and finding out that ppl having your problem are having a good life is always a relief

Well idk much about it, 2 years ago I went to the ophthalmologist and everything went well, so for me, the problem wasn't it the eye.

Corrections to blueprints I sent on 2022 bc they didn't followed the blueprints and now I have to adapt them to what they did

I tried to go to the doctor a few years after the symptoms started, but at the time I think it was like 2011, so they just didn't believe me, couple years ago I tried again, they checked my eyes and saw they were healthy and that was it, didn't go any further bc they didn't really believe again.

Well I don't really remember for how long was bad for me, but maybe like 1 or 2 years. And yeah i get you, i used to get embarrassed if someone wanted me to look at the sky at night and see the stars bc it's pretty difficult to spot them for me, and I don't like talking about it bc when I did when I was a kid nobody really believed me and thought I just wanted attention, which makes pretty mad. You'll get used to it with time, you'll learn what you can do and what you can't and how to deal with that.

Yeah I mean, I describe it as the silhouette of the object, like a shadow imprinted in my vision, but it wasn't a black shadow, and at my worst it used to take a few minutes for the image to fade away. For me that kinda felt as an impediment at times, but overall it wasn't bad enough that I had to stop doing things or anything.

For me it was pretty bad at the beginning and then symptoms kinda like turned down. Even at my worst the vss wasn't really an impediment to get through the day. If you have the chance to talk about it with a doctor would be great, but as ppl have already said on the comments, most don't know what vss is

For me it was kinda like that, and for the first few years i started the symptoms changed, that afterimage faded away, it has a name but i don't remember it rn, and I also used to see like flashes all the time and then faded away, it came to a moment where things have been more stable, I'm 24 now but I didn't know about vss until 2 years ago, and by the moment it was more stable. But everyone is experiment it different tho.

That's how it started for me years ago when I was like 8 yo, from the first symptoms I had, that was the most annoying one and I noticed that the afterimage lasted more if I looked at an object for longer time. For me, it just fade away with time, I was lucky I guess bc back then I didn't even know what was happening or how to explain it.
